व॒यं ते॒ वय॑ इन्द्र वि॒द्धि षु णः॒ प्र भ॑रामहे वाज॒युर्न रथ॑म् । वि॒प॒न्यवो॒ दीध्य॑तो मनी॒षा सु॒म्नमिय॑क्षन्त॒स्त्वाव॑तो॒ नॄन्
vayaṃ te vaya indra viddhi ṣu ṇaḥ pra bharāmahe vājayurna ratham vipanyavo dīdhyato manīṣā sumnamiyakṣantastvāvato nṝn
We—and you, Indra—are known; we bear the burden in the host, the swift chariot’s wealth. May the wise, bright-minded men who cherish high counsel look upon you as protector of men.

त्वं न॑ इन्द्र॒ त्वाभि॑रू॒ती त्वा॑य॒तो अ॑भिष्टि॒पासि॒ जना॑न् । त्वमि॒नो दा॒शुषो॑ वरू॒तेत्थाधी॑र॒भि यो नक्ष॑ति त्वा
tvaṃ na indra tvābhirūtī tvāyato abhiṣṭipāsi janān tvamino dāśuṣo varūtetthādhīrabhi yo nakṣati tvā
You are not fearful to those who revere you; you are invoked by the wished-for men. You are praised by the ten thousand divine hosts; if one contemplates you steadfastly, you protect him by night.

स नो॒ युवेन्द्रो॑ जो॒हूत्रः॒ सखा॑ शि॒वो न॒राम॑स्तु पा॒ता । यः शंस॑न्तं॒ यः श॑शमा॒नमू॒ती पच॑न्तं च स्तु॒वन्तं॑ च प्र॒णेष॑त्
sa no yuvendro johūtraḥ sakhā śivo narāmastu pātā yaḥ śaṃsantaṃ yaḥ śaśamānamūtī pacantaṃ ca stuvantaṃ ca praṇeṣat
May Indra be our youthful protector, companion and auspicious man at the ford. He who praised, who was praised, who cooked and who served, who honored and who bestowed, may he guard us.

तमु॑ स्तुष॒ इन्द्रं॒ तं गृ॑णीषे॒ यस्मि॑न्पु॒रा वा॑वृ॒धुः शा॑श॒दुश्च॑ । स वस्वः॒ कामं॑ पीपरदिया॒नो ब्र॑ह्मण्य॒तो नूत॑नस्या॒योः
tamu stuṣa indraṃ taṃ gṛṇīṣe yasminpurā vāvṛdhuḥ śāśaduśca sa vasvaḥ kāmaṃ pīparadiyāno brahmaṇyato nūtanasyāyoḥ
I praise that Indra whom the ancients increased in the past and the sages strengthened. He, a Vasava desiring, refreshed the power of newly born vigour from the sacred order.

सो अङ्गि॑रसामु॒चथा॑ जुजु॒ष्वान्ब्रह्मा॑ तूतो॒दिन्द्रो॑ गा॒तुमि॒ष्णन् । मु॒ष्णन्नु॒षसः॒ सूर्ये॑ण स्त॒वानश्न॑स्य चिच्छिश्नथत्पू॒र्व्याणि॑
so aṅgirasāmucathā jujuṣvānbrahmā tūtodindro gātumiṣṇan muṣṇannuṣasaḥ sūryeṇa stavānaśnasya cicchiśnathatpūrvyāṇi
Thus Agni was entreated, likewise Br̥haspati; Indra, desiring to go, longed to come. Warming himself like heats of the sun, he tasted hymns and consumed the former offerings.

स ह॑ श्रु॒त इन्द्रो॒ नाम॑ दे॒व ऊ॒र्ध्वो भु॑व॒न्मनु॑षे द॒स्मत॑मः । अव॑ प्रि॒यम॑र्शसा॒नस्य॑ सा॒ह्वाञ्छिरो॑ भरद्दा॒सस्य॑ स्व॒धावा॑न्
sa ha śruta indro nāma deva ūrdhvo bhuvanmanuṣe dasmatamaḥ ava priyamarśasānasya sāhvāñchiro bharaddāsasya svadhāvān
He is heard, Indra by name, exalted among gods, high above humans—this is our dawn. He favored the beloved of the worshipful one; the headful bearer Bharaddāsa was the libation-offerer.

स वृ॑त्र॒हेन्द्रः॑ कृ॒ष्णयो॑नीः पुरंद॒रो दासी॑रैरय॒द्वि । अज॑नय॒न्मन॑वे॒ क्षाम॒पश्च॑ स॒त्रा शंसं॒ यज॑मानस्य तूतोत्
sa vṛtrahendraḥ kṛṣṇayonīḥ puraṃdaro dāsīrairayadvi ajanayanmanave kṣāmapaśca satrā śaṃsaṃ yajamānasya tūtot
He who slew Vṛtra, Indra of dark womb, he who broke forts, subdued hostile bands; he created the human progeny, pitying them, and the host that praises the sacrificer was his guard.

तस्मै॑ तव॒स्य१॒॑मनु॑ दायि स॒त्रेन्द्रा॑य दे॒वेभि॒रर्ण॑सातौ । प्रति॒ यद॑स्य॒ वज्रं॑ बा॒ह्वोर्धुर्ह॒त्वी दस्यू॒न्पुर॒ आय॑सी॒र्नि ता॑रीत्
tasmai tavasya1manu dāyi satrendrāya devebhirarṇasātau prati yadasya vajraṃ bāhvordhurhatvī dasyūnpura āyasīrni tārīt
To him your share was assigned in the ritual, O Indra, by the gods with twofold sacrifice. For when his thunderbolt seized the enemy, it pierced the host and the fortresses of Dasyus were overthrown and streamed away.

नू॒नं सा ते॒ प्रति॒ वरं॑ जरि॒त्रे दु॑ही॒यदि॑न्द्र॒ दक्षि॑णा म॒घोनी॑ । शिक्षा॑ स्तो॒तृभ्यो॒ माति॑ ध॒ग्भगो॑ नो बृ॒हद्व॑देम वि॒दथे॑ सु॒वीराः॑
nūnaṃ sā te prati varaṃ jaritre duhīyadindra dakṣiṇā maghonī śikṣā stotṛbhyo māti dhagbhago no bṛhadvadema vidathe suvīrāḥ
Truly may she give you favour like a milker’s gift to the aged; O Indra, the right-hand generous one. May instruction from the hymn-singers and the portion of dawn grant us great wisdom and courageous counsel.
