tamu stuṣa indraṃ taṃ gṛṇīṣe yasminpurā vāvṛdhuḥ śāśaduśca sa vasvaḥ kāmaṃ pīparadiyāno brahmaṇyato nūtanasyāyoḥ
I praise that Indra whom the ancients increased in the past and the sages strengthened. He, a Vasava desiring, refreshed the power of newly born vigour from the sacred order.
I laud that Indra, I glorify him, in whom of old (his worshippers) prospered, and overcame (their enemies); may he, when solicited, gratify the desire of wealth of his present pious adorer.
With laud and song let me extol that Indra in whom of old men prospered and were mighty. May he, implored, fulfil the prayer for plenty of him who worships, of the living mortal.
