स वृ॑त्र॒हेन्द्रः॑ कृ॒ष्णयो॑नीः पुरंद॒रो दासी॑रैरय॒द्वि । अज॑नय॒न्मन॑वे॒ क्षाम॒पश्च॑ स॒त्रा शंसं॒ यज॑मानस्य तूतोत्
sa vṛtrahendraḥ kṛṣṇayonīḥ puraṃdaro dāsīrairayadvi ajanayanmanave kṣāmapaśca satrā śaṃsaṃ yajamānasya tūtot
He who slew Vṛtra, Indra of dark womb, he who broke forts, subdued hostile bands; he created the human progeny, pitying them, and the host that praises the sacrificer was his guard.
Indra, the slayer of Vṛtra, the destroyer of cities, has scattered the black-sprung servile (hosts); he engendered the earth and the waters for Manu; may he fulfill the entire prayer of the sacrificer.
Indra theVrtra-slayer, Fort-destroyer, scattered the Dasa hosts who dwelt in darkness. For men hath he created earth and waters, and ever helped the prayer of him who worships.
