ये य॒ज्ञेन॒ दक्षि॑णया॒ सम॑क्ता॒ इन्द्र॑स्य स॒ख्यम॑मृत॒त्वमा॑न॒श । तेभ्यो॑ भ॒द्रम॑ङ्गिरसो वो अस्तु॒ प्रति॑ गृभ्णीत मान॒वं सु॑मेधसः
ye yajñena dakṣiṇayā samaktā indrasya sakhyamamṛtatvamānaśa tebhyo bhadramaṅgiraso vo astu prati gṛbhṇīta mānavaṃ sumedhasaḥ
Those who, by the offering of the south, joined in Indra’s friendship, — may Angirasa grant you auspiciousness and receive a human share for great wisdom.

ya udājanpitaro gomayaṃ vasvṛtenābhindanparivatsare valam dīrghāyutvamaṅgiraso vo astu prati gṛbhṇīta mānavaṃ sumedhasaḥ
He who brought forth the cows with the Vasus’ glory, long life may Angirasa grant you; receive a human portion for great wisdom.

य ऋ॒तेन॒ सूर्य॒मारो॑हयन्दि॒व्यप्र॑थयन्पृथि॒वीं मा॒तरं॒ वि । सु॒प्र॒जा॒स्त्वम॑ङ्गिरसो वो अस्तु॒ प्रति॑ गृभ्णीत मान॒वं सु॑मेधसः
ya ṛtena sūryamārohayandivyaprathayanpṛthivīṃ mātaraṃ vi suprajāstvamaṅgiraso vo astu prati gṛbhṇīta mānavaṃ sumedhasaḥ
He who, by order, caused the sun to ascend and separated the heavens’ first ones from earth the mother — Angirasa grant you many offspring; receive a human portion for great wisdom.

अ॒यं नाभा॑ वदति व॒ल्गु वो॑ गृ॒हे देव॑पुत्रा ऋषय॒स्तच्छृ॑णोतन । सु॒ब्र॒ह्म॒ण्यम॑ङ्गिरसो वो अस्तु॒ प्रति॑ गृभ्णीत मान॒वं सु॑मेधसः
ayaṃ nābhā vadati valgu vo gṛhe devaputrā ṛṣayastacchṛṇotana subrahmaṇyamaṅgiraso vo astu prati gṛbhṇīta mānavaṃ sumedhasaḥ
This navel speaks; may the glorious come to your house — sons of gods, seers, hear this. O Brahmanaspati Angirasa grant you splendour; receive a human portion for great wisdom.

विरू॑पास॒ इदृष॑य॒स्त इद्ग॑म्भी॒रवे॑पसः । ते अङ्गि॑रसः सू॒नव॒स्ते अ॒ग्नेः परि॑ जज्ञिरे
virūpāsa idṛṣayasta idgambhīravepasaḥ te aṅgirasaḥ sūnavaste agneḥ pari jajñire
They, like transformed ones, stood in deep terror at that great awe. Angirases, youthful, circled about Agni and held vigil.

ये अ॒ग्नेः परि॑ जज्ञि॒रे विरू॑पासो दि॒वस्परि॑ । नव॑ग्वो॒ नु दश॑ग्वो॒ अङ्गि॑रस्तमो॒ सचा॑ दे॒वेषु॑ मंहते
ye agneḥ pari jajñire virūpāso divaspari navagvo nu daśagvo aṅgirastamo sacā deveṣu maṃhate
Those who circled about Agni were transformed, heaven‑circled; Angirasa with nine and then ten groups honored the gods and took a share among the gods.

इन्द्रे॑ण यु॒जा निः सृ॑जन्त वा॒घतो॑ व्र॒जं गोम॑न्तम॒श्विन॑म् । स॒हस्रं॑ मे॒ दद॑तो अष्टक॒र्ण्य१॒ः॑ श्रवो॑ दे॒वेष्व॑क्रत
indreṇa yujā niḥ sṛjanta vāghato vrajaṃ gomantamaśvinam sahasraṃ me dadato aṣṭakarṇya1ḥ śravo deveṣvakrata
Joined with Indra they sent forth, creating the herd‑moving steeds of the Ashvins. He gave a thousand to me; the eight‑eared famed one listened to the gods’ command.

प्र नू॒नं जा॑यताम॒यं मनु॒स्तोक्मे॑व रोहतु । यः स॒हस्रं॑ श॒ताश्वं॑ स॒द्यो दा॒नाय॒ मंह॑ते
pra nūnaṃ jāyatāmayaṃ manustokmeva rohatu yaḥ sahasraṃ śatāśvaṃ sadyo dānāya maṃhate
Let this Manu now be begotten; may he grow as the calf. Whoever gives a thousand hundred‑horses will quickly be great as a donor.

न तम॑श्नोति॒ कश्च॒न दि॒व इ॑व॒ सान्वा॒रभ॑म् । सा॒व॒र्ण्यस्य॒ दक्षि॑णा॒ वि सिन्धु॑रिव पप्रथे
na tamaśnoti kaścana diva iva sānvārabham sāvarṇyasya dakṣiṇā vi sindhuriva paprathe
No one eats him away like the day’s dawning. The southern oblation of kindred is as the bright stream across the sea.

uta dāsā pariviṣe smaddiṣṭī goparīṇasā yadusturvaśca māmahe
Give, O servants, a protecting grasp around me with a herdswoman’s care; may that which astounds and binds be under my control.

स॒ह॒स्र॒दा ग्रा॑म॒णीर्मा रि॑ष॒न्मनुः॒ सूर्ये॑णास्य॒ यत॑मानैतु॒ दक्षि॑णा । साव॑र्णेर्दे॒वाः प्र ति॑र॒न्त्वायु॒र्यस्मि॒न्नश्रा॑न्ता॒ अस॑नाम॒ वाज॑म्
sahasradā grāmaṇīrmā riṣanmanuḥ sūryeṇāsya yatamānaitu dakṣiṇā sāvarṇerdevāḥ pra tirantvāyuryasminnaśrāntā asanāma vājam
May the thousand‑fold villages, O seer Manu, turn toward his sunlike endeavor; may the devas of kindred bring life upon those wearied ones and strengthen our might.
