ए॒षो उ॒षा अपू॑र्व्या॒ व्यु॑च्छति प्रि॒या दि॒वः । स्तु॒षे वा॑मश्विना बृ॒हत्
eṣo uṣā apūrvyā vyucchati priyā divaḥ stuṣe vāmaśvinā bṛhat
This new Dawn, delightful, unfolds the wide heavens; may the gracious Ashvins be pleased.

या द॒स्रा सिन्धु॑मातरा मनो॒तरा॑ रयी॒णाम् । धि॒या दे॒वा व॑सु॒विदा॑
yā dasrā sindhumātarā manotarā rayīṇām dhiyā devā vasuvidā
She who, a tenth, surpasses the rivers, more swift than thought for the wealth of men — the gods know her as bountiful.

व॒च्यन्ते॑ वां ककु॒हासो॑ जू॒र्णाया॒मधि॑ वि॒ष्टपि॑ । यद्वां॒ रथो॒ विभि॒ष्पता॑त्
vacyante vāṃ kakuhāso jūrṇāyāmadhi viṣṭapi yadvāṃ ratho vibhiṣpatāt
May your clarion-voices be heard, like resonant cocks, in the long day when your chariot rushed in might.

haviṣā jāro apāṃ piparti papurirnarā pitā kuṭasya carṣaṇiḥ
The sacrifice, the old feast of waters, men pour forth; the father is the whetstone of the family.

आ॒दा॒रो वां॑ मती॒नां नास॑त्या मतवचसा । पा॒तं सोम॑स्य धृष्णु॒या
ādāro vāṃ matīnāṃ nāsatyā matavacasā pātaṃ somasya dhṛṣṇuyā
Hear the reverence of your minds, O Nasatyas, spoken by thoughtful speech; grant the draught of Soma’s sustaining power.

yā naḥ pīparadaśvinā jyotiṣmatī tamastiraḥ tāmasme rāsāthāmiṣam
She who for us, like a pair of steeds, is luminous — darkness is driven away; grant to us the nourisher.

आ नो॑ ना॒वा म॑ती॒नां या॒तं पा॒राय॒ गन्त॑वे । यु॒ञ्जाथा॑मश्विना॒ रथ॑म्
ā no nāvā matīnāṃ yātaṃ pārāya gantave yuñjāthāmaśvinā ratham
May she bring us mind and purpose, bearing us to the far shore; O Ashvins, yoke our chariot and unite us.

अ॒रित्रं॑ वां दि॒वस्पृ॒थु ती॒र्थे सिन्धू॑नां॒ रथः॑ । धि॒या यु॑युज्र॒ इन्द॑वः
aritraṃ vāṃ divaspṛthu tīrthe sindhūnāṃ rathaḥ dhiyā yuyujra indavaḥ
A vessel for you, broad as the heavens, a ford among rivers — may thoughtful Indra harness it for you as chariot.

दि॒वस्क॑ण्वास॒ इन्द॑वो॒ वसु॒ सिन्धू॑नां प॒दे । स्वं व॒व्रिं कुह॑ धित्सथः
divaskaṇvāsa indavo vasu sindhūnāṃ pade svaṃ vavriṃ kuha dhitsathaḥ
In the realms of the bright-day Indra, lord of wealth, moves upon the paths of rivers; the singer keeps his own praise with steadfast mind.

अभू॑दु॒ भा उ॑ अं॒शवे॒ हिर॑ण्यं॒ प्रति॒ सूर्यः॑ । व्य॑ख्यज्जि॒ह्वयासि॑तः
abhūdu bhā u aṃśave hiraṇyaṃ prati sūryaḥ vyakhyajjihvayāsitaḥ
There became radiant the share of the horses — gold in turn toward the Sun; the tongue declares it openly.

अभू॑दु पा॒रमेत॑वे॒ पन्था॑ ऋ॒तस्य॑ साधु॒या । अद॑र्शि॒ वि स्रु॒तिर्दि॒वः
abhūdu pārametave panthā ṛtasya sādhuyā adarśi vi srutirdivaḥ
There was not a path to the supreme place that was truly in accord with Ṛta; I did not see the hearing of heaven.

तत्त॒दिद॒श्विनो॒रवो॑ जरि॒ता प्रति॑ भूषति । मदे॒ सोम॑स्य॒ पिप्र॑तोः
tattadidaśvinoravo jaritā prati bhūṣati made somasya pipratoḥ
That which the Ashvins’ chariot urged is adorned in return; the sweet Soma of the press drinks (is offered).

वा॒व॒सा॒ना वि॒वस्व॑ति॒ सोम॑स्य पी॒त्या गि॒रा । म॒नु॒ष्वच्छ॑म्भू॒ आ ग॑तम्
vāvasānā vivasvati somasya pītyā girā manuṣvacchambhū ā gatam
Like the two coursing steeds of Vivṣvāta, the Soma drank; the song has come to the men born of splendor.

यु॒वोरु॒षा अनु॒ श्रियं॒ परि॑ज्मनोरु॒पाच॑रत् । ऋ॒ता व॑नथो अ॒क्तुभिः॑
yuvoruṣā anu śriyaṃ parijmanorupācarat ṛtā vanatho aktubhiḥ
The youthful pair followed prowess, honoring with rites; the order of Ṛta was proclaimed by the bestowers.

उ॒भा पि॑बतमश्विनो॒भा नः॒ शर्म॑ यच्छतम् । अ॒वि॒द्रि॒याभि॑रू॒तिभिः॑
ubhā pibatamaśvinobhā naḥ śarma yacchatam avidriyābhirūtibhiḥ
Both of you drink, Ashvins; grant us that good fortune which is pleasing—by unseen, sweetly yielding powers.
