अग्ने॒ नय॑ सु॒पथा॑ रा॒ये अ॒स्मान्विश्वा॑नि देव व॒युना॑नि वि॒द्वान् । यु॒यो॒ध्य१॒॑स्मज्जु॑हुरा॒णमेनो॒ भूयि॑ष्ठां ते॒ नम॑उक्तिं विधेम
agne naya supathā rāye asmānviśvāni deva vayunāni vidvān yuyodhya1smajjuhurāṇameno bhūyiṣṭhāṃ te namauktiṃ vidhema
Agni, lead the right paths to us, the all-knowing who knows the worlds and the winds. You who this day we have invoked, grant upon us the most excellent blessing; we perform our obeisance to thee.

अग्ने॒ त्वं पा॑रया॒ नव्यो॑ अ॒स्मान्स्व॒स्तिभि॒रति॑ दु॒र्गाणि॒ विश्वा॑ । पूश्च॑ पृ॒थ्वी ब॑हु॒ला न॑ उ॒र्वी भवा॑ तो॒काय॒ तन॑याय॒ शं योः
agne tvaṃ pārayā navyo asmānsvastibhirati durgāṇi viśvā pūśca pṛthvī bahulā na urvī bhavā tokāya tanayāya śaṃ yoḥ
Agni, thou art our new strong aid; protect us with auspiciousness from all hostile places. Foster the abundant earth and become a nurturer for the daughter, bring welfare to her.

अग्ने॒ त्वम॒स्मद्यु॑यो॒ध्यमी॑वा॒ अन॑ग्नित्रा अ॒भ्यम॑न्त कृ॒ष्टीः । पुन॑र॒स्मभ्यं॑ सुवि॒ताय॑ देव॒ क्षां विश्वे॑भिर॒मृते॑भिर्यजत्र
agne tvamasmadyuyodhyamīvā anagnitrā abhyamanta kṛṣṭīḥ punarasmabhyaṃ suvitāya deva kṣāṃ viśvebhiramṛtebhiryajatra
Agni, thou art our warrior in battle, unburning protector around the fields. Again for our welfare, skilful god, grant strength to all with immortal rites.

पा॒हि नो॑ अग्ने पा॒युभि॒रज॑स्रैरु॒त प्रि॒ये सद॑न॒ आ शु॑शु॒क्वान् । मा ते॑ भ॒यं ज॑रि॒तारं॑ यविष्ठ नू॒नं वि॑द॒न्माप॒रं स॑हस्वः
pāhi no agne pāyubhirajasrairuta priye sadana ā śuśukvān mā te bhayaṃ jaritāraṃ yaviṣṭha nūnaṃ vidanmāparaṃ sahasvaḥ
Guard us, Agni; with swift waters give drink to the beloved household; do not let fear overcome thee. May not old age afflict us; grant us a sure portion of strength and enduring might.

मा नो॑ अ॒ग्नेऽव॑ सृजो अ॒घाया॑वि॒ष्यवे॑ रि॒पवे॑ दु॒च्छुना॑यै । मा द॒त्वते॒ दश॑ते॒ मादते॑ नो॒ मा रीष॑ते सहसाव॒न्परा॑ दाः
mā no agne'va sṛjo aghāyāviṣyave ripave ducchunāyai mā datvate daśate mādate no mā rīṣate sahasāvanparā dāḥ
Do not, O Agni, make us subject to calamity or to poisonous foes; do not give us up to mischief. Do not let the enemy seize the tenfold riches; grant us not to be scattered, give us the abundant gifts of the past.

वि घ॒ त्वावा॑ँ ऋतजात यंसद्गृणा॒नो अ॑ग्ने त॒न्वे॒३॒॑ वरू॑थम् । विश्वा॑द्रिरि॒क्षोरु॒त वा॑ निनि॒त्सोर॑भि॒ह्रुता॒मसि॒ हि दे॑व वि॒ष्पट्
vi gha tvāvām̐ ṛtajāta yaṃsadgṛṇāno agne tanve3 varūtham viśvādririkṣoruta vā ninitsorabhihrutāmasi hi deva viṣpaṭ
O Agni, make firm for us the order-born one whose true voice the good assemblies recognize; you extend protection. You are the defender of all, leader of the defence; indeed you are the illustrious protector among the gods.

त्वं ताँ अ॑ग्न उ॒भया॒न्वि वि॒द्वान्वेषि॑ प्रपि॒त्वे मनु॑षो यजत्र । अ॒भि॒पि॒त्वे मन॑वे॒ शास्यो॑ भूर्मर्मृ॒जेन्य॑ उ॒शिग्भि॒र्नाक्रः
tvaṃ tām̐ agna ubhayānvi vidvānveṣi prapitve manuṣo yajatra abhipitve manave śāsyo bhūrmarmṛjenya uśigbhirnākraḥ
Thou, Agni, knowest both these, thou art wise; thou searchest out offerings when men perform sacrifice. When ruling over men thou hast seized them with sharpened spear like cattle bound with ropes.

अवो॑चाम नि॒वच॑नान्यस्मि॒न्मान॑स्य सू॒नुः स॑हसा॒ने अ॒ग्नौ । व॒यं स॒हस्र॒मृषि॑भिः सनेम वि॒द्यामे॒षं वृ॒जनं॑ जी॒रदा॑नुम्
avocāma nivacanānyasminmānasya sūnuḥ sahasāne agnau vayaṃ sahasramṛṣibhiḥ sanema vidyāmeṣaṃ vṛjanaṃ jīradānum
I spoke, addressing the solicitors: they heard me suddenly in Agni. Together with a thousand seers we keep this herd, the milking cattle, the life-giving kine.
