Do not, O Agni, make us subject to calamity or to poisonous foes; do not give us up to mischief. Do not let the enemy seize the tenfold riches; grant us not to be scattered, give us the abundant gifts of the past.

Abandon us not, Agni, to a wicked, voracious, malevolent foe; (abandon us) not to one who has fangs, and who bites; nor to one without teeth; nor to the malignant; nor give us up, powerful Agni, to disgrace.

Give not us up a prey to sin, O Agni, the greedy enemy that brings us trouble; Not to the fanged that bites, not to the toothless: give not us up, thou Conqueror, to the spoiler.
