इन्द्रं॑ मि॒त्रं वरु॑णम॒ग्निमू॒तये॒ मारु॑तं॒ शर्धो॒ अदि॑तिं हवामहे । रथं॒ न दु॒र्गाद्व॑सवः सुदानवो॒ विश्व॑स्मान्नो॒ अंह॑सो॒ निष्पि॑पर्तन
indraṃ mitraṃ varuṇamagnimūtaye mārutaṃ śardho aditiṃ havāmahe rathaṃ na durgādvasavaḥ sudānavo viśvasmānno aṃhaso niṣpipartana
We invoke Indra, Mitra, Varuṇa, Agni, the Maruts, the Bull (Sharadha) and Aditi. The Vasus and Sudhanvas made the chariot not hard to move; may they remove from us the assault of the foe and the peril of breath.

ta ādityā ā gatā sarvatātaye bhūta devā vṛtratūryeṣu śambhuvaḥ rathaṃ na durgādvasavaḥ sudānavo viśvasmānno aṃhaso niṣpipartana
The Aditiyas have come forth, all-surrounding, to protect the beings; the gods who uphold truth are the slayers of Vṛtra in these places. The Vasus and Sudhanvas made the chariot not hard to move; may they remove from us the assault of the foe and the peril of breath.

avantu naḥ pitaraḥ supravācanā uta devī devaputre ṛtāvṛdhā rathaṃ na durgādvasavaḥ sudānavo viśvasmānno aṃhaso niṣpipartana
May our fathers come, eloquent, and may goddesses and sons of gods, the rulers of ordination, be strong for us. The Vasus and Sudhanvas made the chariot not hard to move; may they remove from us the assault of the foe and the peril of breath.

नरा॒शंसं॑ वा॒जिनं॑ वा॒जय॑न्नि॒ह क्ष॒यद्वी॑रं पू॒षणं॑ सु॒म्नैरी॑महे । रथं॒ न दु॒र्गाद्व॑सवः सुदानवो॒ विश्व॑स्मान्नो॒ अंह॑सो॒ निष्पि॑पर्तन
narāśaṃsaṃ vājinaṃ vājayanniha kṣayadvīraṃ pūṣaṇaṃ sumnairīmahe rathaṃ na durgādvasavaḥ sudānavo viśvasmānno aṃhaso niṣpipartana
Whether praising men or invoking wealth, may we, with Pushan as our hero, not lose valour; the Vasus and Sudhanvas made the chariot not hard to move; may they remove from us the assault of the foe and the peril of breath.

बृह॑स्पते॒ सद॒मिन्नः॑ सु॒गं कृ॑धि॒ शं योर्यत्ते॒ मनु॑र्हितं॒ तदी॑महे । रथं॒ न दु॒र्गाद्व॑सवः सुदानवो॒ विश्व॑स्मान्नो॒ अंह॑सो॒ निष्पि॑पर्तन
bṛhaspate sadaminnaḥ sugaṃ kṛdhi śaṃ yoryatte manurhitaṃ tadīmahe rathaṃ na durgādvasavaḥ sudānavo viśvasmānno aṃhaso niṣpipartana
O Bṛhaspati, fashion for us a fitting dwelling, be gracious to what the two gods grant; let that which is rightly desired by men be ours. The Vasus and Sudhanvas made the chariot not hard to move; may they remove from us the assault of the foe and the peril of breath.

इन्द्रं॒ कुत्सो॑ वृत्र॒हणं॒ शची॒पतिं॑ का॒टे निबा॑ळ्ह॒ ऋषि॑रह्वदू॒तये॑ । रथं॒ न दु॒र्गाद्व॑सवः सुदानवो॒ विश्व॑स्मान्नो॒ अंह॑सो॒ निष्पि॑पर्तन
indraṃ kutso vṛtrahaṇaṃ śacīpatiṃ kāṭe nibāḷha ṛṣirahvadūtaye rathaṃ na durgādvasavaḥ sudānavo viśvasmānno aṃhaso niṣpipartana
Indra, the slayer of Vṛtra, the conqueror of hosts, who struck down Shachi’s husband — O messenger of the seers, bring him near. The Vasus and Sudhanvas made the chariot not hard to move; may they remove from us the assault of the foe and the peril of breath.

दे॒वैर्नो॑ दे॒व्यदि॑ति॒र्नि पा॑तु दे॒वस्त्रा॒ता त्रा॑यता॒मप्र॑युच्छन् । तन्नो॑ मि॒त्रो वरु॑णो मामहन्ता॒मदि॑तिः॒ सिन्धुः॑ पृथि॒वी उ॒त द्यौः
devairno devyaditirni pātu devastrātā trāyatāmaprayucchan tanno mitro varuṇo māmahantāmaditiḥ sindhuḥ pṛthivī uta dyauḥ
May the gods and Devyani protect us; may the three protectors (gods) guard and preserve us. May Mitra and Varuna, Aditi, Sindhu, Earth and Sky protect us.
