अव॑न्तु नः पि॒तरः॑ सुप्रवाच॒ना उ॒त दे॒वी दे॒वपु॑त्रे ऋता॒वृधा॑ । रथं॒ न दु॒र्गाद्व॑सवः सुदानवो॒ विश्व॑स्मान्नो॒ अंह॑सो॒ निष्पि॑पर्तन
avantu naḥ pitaraḥ supravācanā uta devī devaputre ṛtāvṛdhā rathaṃ na durgādvasavaḥ sudānavo viśvasmānno aṃhaso niṣpipartana
May our fathers come, eloquent, and may goddesses and sons of gods, the rulers of ordination, be strong for us. The Vasus and Sudhanvas made the chariot not hard to move; may they remove from us the assault of the foe and the peril of breath.
May the Pitrṣ, who are easily to be praised protect us; and may the two divinities, heaven and earth, the promoters of sacrifices, and of whom, the gods are progeny, protect us; and may they, who are bountiful and givers of dwellings, extricate us from sin, as a chariot from a defile.
May the most glorious Fathers aid us, and the two Goddesses, Mothers of the Gods, who strengthen Law. Even as a chariot from a difficult ravine, bountiful Vasus, rescue us from all distress.
