पव॑स्व॒ मधु॑मत्तम॒ इन्द्रा॑य सोम क्रतु॒वित्त॑मो॒ मदः॑ । महि॑ द्यु॒क्षत॑मो॒ मदः॑
pavasva madhumattama indrāya soma kratuvittamo madaḥ mahi dyukṣatamo madaḥ
Soma, brimming with sap, sweetest for Indra, you are the foremost knower of ritual—intoxication that overwhelmed the heavens.

यस्य॑ ते पी॒त्वा वृ॑ष॒भो वृ॑षा॒यते॒ऽस्य पी॒ता स्व॒र्विदः॑ । स सु॒प्रके॑तो अ॒भ्य॑क्रमी॒दिषोऽच्छा॒ वाजं॒ नैत॑शः
yasya te pītvā vṛṣabho vṛṣāyate'sya pītā svarvidaḥ sa supraketo abhyakramīdiṣo'cchā vājaṃ naitaśaḥ
Whoever, after drinking you, makes the bull perform, for him the realms are confirmed; he who, vigorous, began mighty deeds—this is no wondrous empty boast.

tvaṃ hya1ṅga daivyā pavamāna janimāni dyumattamaḥ amṛtatvāya ghoṣayaḥ
You, O divine life-breath (ang/āṅg), purifying and generating the most radiant heavens, proclaim immortality.

येना॒ नव॑ग्वो द॒ध्यङ्ङ॑पोर्णु॒ते येन॒ विप्रा॑स आपि॒रे । दे॒वानां॑ सु॒म्ने अ॒मृत॑स्य॒ चारु॑णो॒ येन॒ श्रवां॑स्यान॒शुः
yenā navagvo dadhyaṅṅaporṇute yena viprāsa āpire devānāṃ sumne amṛtasya cāruṇo yena śravāṃsyānaśuḥ
By whom the ninefold sacred waters are poured forth, by whom the wise pass away; by whom the gods seize the pleasant immortal draught—by whom the courses of sound are set free.

eṣa sya dhārayā suto'vyo vārebhiḥ pavate madintamaḥ krīḷannūrmirapāmiva
This is she, borne by the sustaining force, unattainable by the oblations, blowing through like winds, the purifier of the waters; playing she glides like the foam of the waters.

य उ॒स्रिया॒ अप्या॑ अ॒न्तरश्म॑नो॒ निर्गा अकृ॑न्त॒दोज॑सा । अ॒भि व्र॒जं त॑त्निषे॒ गव्य॒मश्व्यं॑ व॒र्मीव॑ धृष्ण॒वा रु॑ज
ya usriyā apyā antaraśmano nirgā akṛntadojasā abhi vrajaṃ tatniṣe gavyamaśvyaṃ varmīva dhṛṣṇavā ruja
He who, like the Sun’s inner beam, has poured forth vitality and made the moisture productive; who drives forth the cow, the ox, the horse—may he, O Varuna, take it away with firmness.

आ सो॑ता॒ परि॑ षिञ्च॒ताश्वं॒ न स्तोम॑म॒प्तुरं॑ रज॒स्तुर॑म् । व॒न॒क्र॒क्षमु॑द॒प्रुत॑म्
ā sotā pari ṣiñcatāśvaṃ na stomamapturaṃ rajasturam vanakrakṣamudaprutam
May he who pours libations sprinkle the horse round about; let them not obtain the praise, may not the speckled obtain it. The forest eye did not open the threshold.

स॒हस्र॑धारं वृष॒भं प॑यो॒वृधं॑ प्रि॒यं दे॒वाय॒ जन्म॑ने । ऋ॒तेन॒ य ऋ॒तजा॑तो विवावृ॒धे राजा॑ दे॒व ऋ॒तं बृ॒हत्
sahasradhāraṃ vṛṣabhaṃ payovṛdhaṃ priyaṃ devāya janmane ṛtena ya ṛtajāto vivāvṛdhe rājā deva ṛtaṃ bṛhat
May He who bears a thousand (beings), the bull, the source of milk, dear to the gods at birth—by the ordinance of Rta, born of Rta, the king of gods upheld the great Rta.

abhi dyumnaṃ bṛhadyaśa iṣaspate didīhi deva devayuḥ vi kośaṃ madhyamaṃ yuva
O Lord of wealth, Lord of abundant fame, grant brightness to the heavens; appoint the middle region to you both.

ā vacyasva sudakṣa camvoḥ suto viśāṃ vahnirna viśpatiḥ vṛṣṭiṃ divaḥ pavasva rītimapāṃ jinvā gaviṣṭaye dhiyaḥ
Speak now, skilled one, O son of strength; stream forth, O Agni, lord of worship. Grant rain from heaven, establish the ordinance of the waters, and awaken intellects for the welfare of the kine.

etamu tyaṃ madacyutaṃ sahasradhāraṃ vṛṣabhaṃ divo duhuḥ viśvā vasūni bibhratam
They offered this Atya, mighty, unconquered, a thousand-streamed, the bull drawn from the sky; they bore all the dwelling-places.

वृषा॒ वि ज॑ज्ञे ज॒नय॒न्नम॑र्त्यः प्र॒तप॒ञ्ज्योति॑षा॒ तमः॑ । स सुष्टु॑तः क॒विभि॑र्नि॒र्णिजं॑ दधे त्रि॒धात्व॑स्य॒ दंस॑सा
vṛṣā vi jajñe janayannamartyaḥ pratapañjyotiṣā tamaḥ sa suṣṭutaḥ kavibhirnirṇijaṃ dadhe tridhātvasya daṃsasā
The bulls who are the sacrificers generate mortal beings; the flame that is kindles darkness. He, having been harnessed well by the poets, bestowed the shining (fire) splitting into threefold power with a striking force.

स सु॑न्वे॒ यो वसू॑नां॒ यो रा॒यामा॑ने॒ता य इळा॑नाम् । सोमो॒ यः सु॑क्षिती॒नाम्
sa sunve yo vasūnāṃ yo rāyāmānetā ya iḷānām somo yaḥ sukṣitīnām
He who listens to the dwellers, he who, as protector, bestows the wealth—he is the Soma of those well-protected.

यस्य॑ न॒ इन्द्रः॒ पिबा॒द्यस्य॑ म॒रुतो॒ यस्य॑ वार्य॒मणा॒ भगः॑ । आ येन॑ मि॒त्रावरु॑णा॒ करा॑मह॒ एन्द्र॒मव॑से म॒हे
yasya na indraḥ pibādyasya maruto yasya vāryamaṇā bhagaḥ ā yena mitrāvaruṇā karāmaha endramavase mahe
He who has Indra not as his drink, who has not the Maruts as his glorious aid; by whom Mitra-Varuna fashioned deeds — may he, having taken Indra, be great for us.

इन्द्रा॑य सोम॒ पात॑वे॒ नृभि॑र्य॒तः स्वा॑यु॒धो म॒दिन्त॑मः । पव॑स्व॒ मधु॑मत्तमः
indrāya soma pātave nṛbhiryataḥ svāyudho madintamaḥ pavasva madhumattamaḥ
For Indra and Soma, for the pious and the men: may the swift-armed bring forth the fruitful share; the purifying breezes, most honeyed, may they bestow.

इन्द्र॑स्य॒ हार्दि॑ सोम॒धान॒मा वि॑श समु॒द्रमि॑व॒ सिन्ध॑वः । जुष्टो॑ मि॒त्राय॒ वरु॑णाय वा॒यवे॑ दि॒वो वि॑ष्ट॒म्भ उ॑त्त॒मः
indrasya hārdi somadhānamā viśa samudramiva sindhavaḥ juṣṭo mitrāya varuṇāya vāyave divo viṣṭambha uttamaḥ
In Indra’s boon, Soma’s name is as the ocean to the rivers; allied like Sindhu to the sea. May he be favorable to Mitra, to Varuna, to the airy gods, the supreme support of heaven.
