आ वां॒ रथो॒ रोद॑सी बद्बधा॒नो हि॑र॒ण्ययो॒ वृष॑भिर्या॒त्वश्वैः॑ । घृ॒तव॑र्तनिः प॒विभी॑ रुचा॒न इ॒षां वो॒ळ्हा नृ॒पति॑र्वा॒जिनी॑वान्
ā vāṃ ratho rodasī badbadhāno hiraṇyayo vṛṣabhiryātvaśvaiḥ ghṛtavartaniḥ pavibhī rucāna iṣāṃ voḷhā nṛpatirvājinīvān
Come then, chariot, with the bright-breathing, the golden-armed bulls with horses. The butter-bearing wheel moves; their polished splendor is for you, O lord of people, O wielder of light.

स प॑प्रथा॒नो अ॒भि पञ्च॒ भूमा॑ त्रिवन्धु॒रो मन॒सा या॑तु यु॒क्तः । विशो॒ येन॒ गच्छ॑थो देव॒यन्तीः॒ कुत्रा॑ चि॒द्याम॑मश्विना॒ दधा॑ना
sa paprathāno abhi pañca bhūmā trivandhuro manasā yātu yuktaḥ viśo yena gacchatho devayantīḥ kutrā cidyāmamaśvinā dadhānā
He first set forth the fivefold realms, the threefold regions joined by mind and skill. By which paths the divine ones go—where shall we appoint the offering-placing Ashvins?

स्वश्वा॑ य॒शसा या॑तम॒र्वाग्दस्रा॑ नि॒धिं मधु॑मन्तं पिबाथः । वि वां॒ रथो॑ व॒ध्वा॒३॒॑ याद॑मा॒नोऽन्ता॑न्दि॒वो बा॑धते वर्त॒निभ्या॑म्
svaśvā yaśasā yātamarvāgdasrā nidhiṃ madhumantaṃ pibāthaḥ vi vāṃ ratho vadhvā3 yādamāno'ntāndivo bādhate vartanibhyām
Your own horses, famed, advance with the dawn; drink the sweetened treasure. When you enable the chariot to go forth, the sky's ends close and the wheel is bound to the paths.

यु॒वोः श्रियं॒ परि॒ योषा॑वृणीत॒ सूरो॑ दुहि॒ता परि॑तक्म्यायाम् । यद्दे॑व॒यन्त॒मव॑थः॒ शची॑भिः॒ परि॑ घ्रं॒समो॒मना॑ वां॒ वयो॑ गात्
yuvoḥ śriyaṃ pari yoṣāvṛṇīta sūro duhitā paritakmyāyām yaddevayantamavathaḥ śacībhiḥ pari ghraṃsamomanā vāṃ vayo gāt
May he surround the youth with splendour and choose wives; the hero, the milker, attends the rites of full devotion. The gods loved him with shafts of light; with libations and the hymn he has come to you.

यो ह॒ स्य वां॑ रथिरा॒ वस्त॑ उ॒स्रा रथो॑ युजा॒नः प॑रि॒याति॑ व॒र्तिः । तेन॑ नः॒ शं योरु॒षसो॒ व्यु॑ष्टौ॒ न्य॑श्विना वहतं य॒ज्ञे अ॒स्मिन्
yo ha sya vāṃ rathirā vasta usrā ratho yujānaḥ pariyāti vartiḥ tena naḥ śaṃ yoruṣaso vyuṣṭau nyaśvinā vahataṃ yajñe asmin
He who is your charioteer, mighty at dawn, yoked to the shining chariot, turns about the course. By him our twofold strength is established in the ritual; the Ashvins bear it in the sacrifice.

नरा॑ गौ॒रेव॑ वि॒द्युतं॑ तृषा॒णास्माक॑म॒द्य सव॒नोप॑ यातम् । पु॒रु॒त्रा हि वां॑ म॒तिभि॒र्हव॑न्ते॒ मा वा॑म॒न्ये नि य॑मन्देव॒यन्तः॑
narā gaureva vidyutaṃ tṛṣāṇāsmākamadya savanopa yātam purutrā hi vāṃ matibhirhavante mā vāmanye ni yamandevayantaḥ
Men like bulls of splendor, lightning-quick, come with thirst today to the assembly. Sons indeed gain your counsels by praise; do not let others, worshippers of Yama, oppose you.

यु॒वं भु॒ज्युमव॑विद्धं समु॒द्र उदू॑हथु॒रर्ण॑सो॒ अस्रि॑धानैः । प॒त॒त्रिभि॑रश्र॒मैर॑व्य॒थिभि॑र्दं॒सना॑भिरश्विना पा॒रय॑न्ता
yuvaṃ bhujyumavaviddhaṃ samudra udūhathurarṇaso asridhānaiḥ patatribhiraśramairavyathibhirdaṃsanābhiraśvinā pārayantā
The young, unbroken to be eaten, plunged into the sea and brought up with rushing waves and foaming currents. With labours, weariness, and torments, with tears and groans the Ashvins carry them across.

नू मे॒ हव॒मा शृ॑णुतं युवाना यासि॒ष्टं व॒र्तिर॑श्विना॒विरा॑वत् । ध॒त्तं रत्ना॑नि॒ जर॑तं च सू॒रीन्यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः
nū me havamā śaṛṇutaṃ yuvānā yāsiṣṭaṃ vartiraśvināvirāvat dhattaṃ ratnāni jarataṃ ca sūrīnyūyaṃ pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ
Hear us, youthful Ashvins, you who bring the appointed offering; bestow jewels, bring strength and heroes' bounty, may auspicious well‑being ever be on us.
