यद॒द्य सू॑र्य॒ ब्रवोऽना॑गा उ॒द्यन्मि॒त्राय॒ वरु॑णाय स॒त्यम् । व॒यं दे॑व॒त्रादि॑ते स्याम॒ तव॑ प्रि॒यासो॑ अर्यमन्गृ॒णन्तः॑
yadadya sūrya bravo'nāgā udyanmitrāya varuṇāya satyam vayaṃ devatrādite syāma tava priyāso aryamangṛṇantaḥ
Today the Sun spoke: I rise for Mitra, Varuṇa, truth. May we be gods like Aditi, pleasing to you, accepting noble gifts.

ए॒ष स्य मि॑त्रावरुणा नृ॒चक्षा॑ उ॒भे उदे॑ति॒ सूर्यो॑ अ॒भि ज्मन् । विश्व॑स्य स्था॒तुर्जग॑तश्च गो॒पा ऋ॒जु मर्ते॑षु वृजि॒ना च॒ पश्य॑न्
eṣa sya mitrāvaruṇā nṛcakṣā ubhe udeti sūryo abhi jman viśvasya sthāturjagataśca gopā ṛju marteṣu vṛjinā ca paśyan
This Sun, a watcher of men, both Mitra and Varuṇa, rose and shone upon the world. He sustains the stable world; behold the herdsman who watches the straight ways of mortals.

अयु॑क्त स॒प्त ह॒रितः॑ स॒धस्था॒द्या ईं॒ वह॑न्ति॒ सूर्यं॑ घृ॒ताचीः॑ । धामा॑नि मित्रावरुणा यु॒वाकुः॒ सं यो यू॒थेव॒ जनि॑मानि॒ चष्टे॑
ayukta sapta haritaḥ sadhasthādyā īṃ vahanti sūryaṃ ghṛtācīḥ dhāmāni mitrāvaruṇā yuvākuḥ saṃ yo yūtheva janimāni caṣṭe
Seven green steeds, yoked together, bearing the Sun with clarified butter, bring him to the abodes. Mitra and Varuṇa, young men, they convey the wealths and the generations they have begotten.

उद्वां॑ पृ॒क्षासो॒ मधु॑मन्तो अस्थु॒रा सूर्यो॑ अरुहच्छु॒क्रमर्णः॑ । यस्मा॑ आदि॒त्या अध्व॑नो॒ रद॑न्ति मि॒त्रो अ॑र्य॒मा वरु॑णः स॒जोषाः॑
udvāṃ pṛkṣāso madhumanto asthurā sūryo aruhacchukramarṇaḥ yasmā ādityā adhvano radanti mitro aryamā varuṇaḥ sajoṣāḥ
Upward the bright, honey‑bearing chariot of the Sun ascends, the wheel turning red. From which the Adityas travel the paths — Mitra, Aryaman, Varuṇa, companions in joy.

इ॒मे चे॒तारो॒ अनृ॑तस्य॒ भूरे॑र्मि॒त्रो अ॑र्य॒मा वरु॑णो॒ हि सन्ति॑ । इ॒म ऋ॒तस्य॑ वावृधुर्दुरो॒णे श॒ग्मासः॑ पु॒त्रा अदि॑ते॒रद॑ब्धाः
ime cetāro anṛtasya bhūrermitro aryamā varuṇo hi santi ima ṛtasya vāvṛdhurduroṇe śagmāsaḥ putrā aditeradabdhāḥ
If these minds are of falsehood, then Mitra, Aryaman, Varuṇa are far from it. They are the guardians of Rta; against the harsh ones, sons of Aditya were appointed at the boundary of the world.

इ॒मे मि॒त्रो वरु॑णो दू॒ळभा॑सोऽचे॒तसं॑ चिच्चितयन्ति॒ दक्षैः॑ । अपि॒ क्रतुं॑ सु॒चेत॑सं॒ वत॑न्तस्ति॒रश्चि॒दंहः॑ सु॒पथा॑ नयन्ति
ime mitro varuṇo dūḷabhāso'cetasaṃ ciccitayanti dakṣaiḥ api kratuṃ sucetasaṃ vatantastiraścidaṃhaḥ supathā nayanti
These Mitra and Varuṇa are hard to reach; with skillful rites they shape the hearts of those who know. Even the wise unobstructed ones, following the right path, lead this mighty host.

इ॒मे दि॒वो अनि॑मिषा पृथि॒व्याश्चि॑कि॒त्वांसो॑ अचे॒तसं॑ नयन्ति । प्र॒व्रा॒जे चि॑न्न॒द्यो॑ गा॒धम॑स्ति पा॒रं नो॑ अ॒स्य वि॑ष्पि॒तस्य॑ पर्षन्
ime divo animiṣā pṛthivyāścikitvāṃso acetasaṃ nayanti pravrāje cinnadyo gādhamasti pāraṃ no asya viṣpitasya parṣan
These blinking lights of heaven and the shining regions of earth lead the mindless ones; the fierce one who tore the day is mighty — may he ward off the poison that besets us.

यद्गो॒पाव॒ददि॑तिः॒ शर्म॑ भ॒द्रं मि॒त्रो यच्छ॑न्ति॒ वरु॑णः सु॒दासे॑ । तस्मि॒न्ना तो॒कं तन॑यं॒ दधा॑ना॒ मा क॑र्म देव॒हेळ॑नं तुरासः
yadgopāvadaditiḥ śarma bhadraṃ mitro yacchanti varuṇaḥ sudāse tasminnā tokaṃ tanayaṃ dadhānā mā karma devaheḷanaṃ turāsaḥ
Whatever glory Mitra and Varuṇa grant, that is splendid and good; do not make an inferior offspring for us, O giver of strength, nor a sinful ritual for the gods.

अव॒ वेदिं॒ होत्रा॑भिर्यजेत॒ रिपः॒ काश्चि॑द्वरुण॒ध्रुतः॒ सः । परि॒ द्वेषो॑भिरर्य॒मा वृ॑णक्तू॒रुं सु॒दासे॑ वृषणा उ लो॒कम्
ava vediṃ hotrābhiryajeta ripaḥ kāścidvaruṇadhrutaḥ saḥ pari dveṣobhiraryamā vṛṇaktūruṃ sudāse vṛṣaṇā u lokam
Let not the hostile one, held by Varuṇa, sacrifice with unknown priests; may Aryamā with his wrath choose to protect the people of Vr̥ṣaṇa and guard the world.

स॒स्वश्चि॒द्धि समृ॑तिस्त्वे॒ष्ये॑षामपी॒च्ये॑न॒ सह॑सा॒ सह॑न्ते । यु॒ष्मद्भि॒या वृ॑षणो॒ रेज॑माना॒ दक्ष॑स्य चिन्महि॒ना मृ॒ळता॑ नः
sasvaściddhi samṛtistveṣyeṣāmapīcyena sahasā sahante yuṣmadbhiyā vṛṣaṇo rejamānā dakṣasya cinmahinā mṛḷatā naḥ
Their potency and life will remain firm; by your might, O Vr̥ṣaṇa, enduringly restrain our decline, that our strength not be humiliated.

यो ब्रह्म॑णे सुम॒तिमा॒यजा॑ते॒ वाज॑स्य सा॒तौ प॑र॒मस्य॑ रा॒यः । सीक्ष॑न्त म॒न्युं म॒घवा॑नो अ॒र्य उ॒रु क्षया॑य चक्रिरे सु॒धातु॑
yo brahmaṇe sumatimāyajāte vājasya sātau paramasya rāyaḥ sīkṣanta manyuṃ maghavāno arya uru kṣayāya cakrire sudhātu
He who was born wise for Brahman, who is the wealth of strength in the paired Vājas, — they teach Manju and the generous ones; the noble Arya attained broad fame by bestowing bounty.

इ॒यं दे॑व पु॒रोहि॑तिर्यु॒वभ्यां॑ य॒ज्ञेषु॑ मित्रावरुणावकारि । विश्वा॑नि दु॒र्गा पि॑पृतं ति॒रो नो॑ यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः
iyaṃ deva purohitiryuvabhyāṃ yajñeṣu mitrāvaruṇāvakāri viśvāni durgā pipṛtaṃ tiro no yūyaṃ pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ
This godly priest serves in the twofold rites, invoking Mitra and Varuṇa in the sacrifices; may all hostile forces be crushed and may you protect us always with blessings.
