ए॒ना वो॑ अ॒ग्निं नम॑सो॒र्जो नपा॑त॒मा हु॑वे । प्रि॒यं चेति॑ष्ठमर॒तिं स्व॑ध्व॒रं विश्व॑स्य दू॒तम॒मृत॑म्
enā vo agniṃ namasorjo napātamā huve priyaṃ cetiṣṭhamaratiṃ svadhvaraṃ viśvasya dūtamamṛtam
With these salutations we invoke Agni, the bringer of life; I call him beloved, the death‑overcoming, messenger of immortality to the world.

स यो॑जते अरु॒षा वि॒श्वभो॑जसा॒ स दु॑द्रव॒त्स्वा॑हुतः । सु॒ब्रह्मा॑ य॒ज्ञः सु॒शमी॒ वसू॑नां दे॒वं राधो॒ जना॑नाम्
sa yojate aruṣā viśvabhojasā sa dudravatsvāhutaḥ subrahmā yajñaḥ suśamī vasūnāṃ devaṃ rādho janānām
He who prepares the ritual with radiant sacred food, with universal feast—that offered oblation, auspicious Brahman—this well‑ordered sacrifice brings prosperity to peoples.

उद॑स्य शो॒चिर॑स्थादा॒जुह्वा॑नस्य मी॒ळ्हुषः॑ । उद्धू॒मासो॑ अरु॒षासो॑ दिवि॒स्पृशः॒ सम॒ग्निमि॑न्धते॒ नरः॑
udasya śocirasthādājuhvānasya mīḷhuṣaḥ uddhūmāso aruṣāso divispṛśaḥ samagnimindhate naraḥ
Sitting down saddened, uttering lamentations for the flayed one, the man who touches the heaven-like bolt hurriedly kindles Agni.

तं त्वा॑ दू॒तं कृ॑ण्महे य॒शस्त॑मं दे॒वाँ आ वी॒तये॑ वह । विश्वा॑ सूनो सहसो मर्त॒भोज॑ना॒ रास्व॒ तद्यत्त्वेम॑हे
taṃ tvā dūtaṃ kṛṇmahe yaśastamaṃ devām̐ ā vītaye vaha viśvā sūno sahaso martabhojanā rāsva tadyattvemahe
We make you messenger, glorious one, to convey this to the gods; may all sons together, with vigorous appetite, bring us that share.

त्वम॑ग्ने गृ॒हप॑ति॒स्त्वं होता॑ नो अध्व॒रे । त्वं पोता॑ विश्ववार॒ प्रचे॑ता॒ यक्षि॒ वेषि॑ च॒ वार्य॑म्
tvamagne gṛhapatistvaṃ hotā no adhvare tvaṃ potā viśvavāra pracetā yakṣi veṣi ca vāryam
You, Agni, are lord of the home, you are our sacrificer upon the hearth; you are the protector, wise in all directions, the thoughtful one who restrains foes and guards the house.

कृ॒धि रत्नं॒ यज॑मानाय सुक्रतो॒ त्वं हि र॑त्न॒धा असि॑ । आ न॑ ऋ॒ते शि॑शीहि॒ विश्व॑मृ॒त्विजं॑ सु॒शंसो॒ यश्च॒ दक्ष॑ते
kṛdhi ratnaṃ yajamānāya sukrato tvaṃ hi ratnadhā asi ā na ṛte śiśīhi viśvamṛtvijaṃ suśaṃso yaśca dakṣate
Receive the jewel for the worshipper—you indeed are the bearer of treasure. Bring it not empty-handed; strike down, O all-sacrificing one, the foe, glorified and competent.

त्वे अ॑ग्ने स्वाहुत प्रि॒यासः॑ सन्तु सू॒रयः॑ । य॒न्तारो॒ ये म॒घवा॑नो॒ जना॑नामू॒र्वान्दय॑न्त॒ गोना॑म्
tve agne svāhuta priyāsaḥ santu sūrayaḥ yantāro ye maghavāno janānāmūrvāndayanta gonām
May the princes be pleased with the oblation you accept, Agni. Those who, like strong courtiers, push forward the peoples and drive off the cattle—be favorable to them.

येषा॒मिळा॑ घृ॒तह॑स्ता दुरो॒ण आँ अपि॑ प्रा॒ता नि॒षीद॑ति । ताँस्त्रा॑यस्व सहस्य द्रु॒हो नि॒दो यच्छा॑ नः॒ शर्म॑ दीर्घ॒श्रुत्
yeṣāmiḷā ghṛtahastā duroṇa ām̐ api prātā niṣīdati tām̐strāyasva sahasya druho nido yacchā naḥ śarma dīrghaśrut
Those whose hands are anointed with ghee and who sit early in the strong-bowled vessels—protect them, O Agni; avert treachery, and grant us protection, long fame and refuge.

स म॒न्द्रया॑ च जि॒ह्वया॒ वह्नि॑रा॒सा वि॒दुष्ट॑रः । अग्ने॑ र॒यिं म॒घव॑द्भ्यो न॒ आ व॑ह ह॒व्यदा॑तिं च सूदय
sa mandrayā ca jihvayā vahnirāsā viduṣṭaraḥ agne rayiṃ maghavadbhyo na ā vaha havyadātiṃ ca sūdaya
He, with a gentle tongue and mild speech, knows the streams of fire. Agni, carry not away the wealth from the generous ones; bring the offering and the present measure.

ये राधां॑सि॒ दद॒त्यश्व्या॑ म॒घा कामे॑न॒ श्रव॑सो म॒हः । ताँ अंह॑सः पिपृहि प॒र्तृभि॒ष्ट्वं श॒तं पू॒र्भिर्य॑विष्ठ्य
ye rādhāṃsi dadatyaśvyā maghā kāmena śravaso mahaḥ tām̐ aṃhasaḥ pipṛhi partṛbhiṣṭvaṃ śataṃ pūrbhiryaviṣṭhya
Those who give swift horses, mighty magnates for desire and great fame—they, O singers, provide you riches; may you choose a hundredfold reward formerly allotted to you.

दे॒वो वो॑ द्रविणो॒दाः पू॒र्णां वि॑वष्ट्या॒सिच॑म् । उद्वा॑ सि॒ञ्चध्व॒मुप॑ वा पृणध्व॒मादिद्वो॑ दे॒व ओ॑हते
devo vo draviṇodāḥ pūrṇāṃ vivaṣṭyāsicam udvā siñcadhvamupa vā pṛṇadhvamādidvo deva ohate
The gods poured forth your treasures, filling them completely by distribution. Rise, sprinkle, or carry together; the gods perform the offering for you.

तं होता॑रमध्व॒रस्य॒ प्रचे॑तसं॒ वह्निं॑ दे॒वा अ॑कृण्वत । दधा॑ति॒ रत्नं॑ विध॒ते सु॒वीर्य॑म॒ग्निर्जना॑य दा॒शुषे॑
taṃ hotāramadhvarasya pracetasaṃ vahniṃ devā akṛṇvata dadhāti ratnaṃ vidhate suvīryamagnirjanāya dāśuṣe
They made that Agni, the sacrificer and bearer of thought, the fire. He sets the jewel in the order, bravely granting to the people the dues to the worshippers.
