madhye hotā duroṇe barhiṣo rāḷagnistodasya rodasī yajadhyai ayaṃ sa sūnuḥ sahasa ṛtāvā dūrātsūryo na śociṣā tatāna
In the middle the hotar stands on the sacred grass, stirring the fire with the hymns; this is the son, steadfast with rites, far-seen — the sun not of sorrow he, the sacrificer.

ā yasmintve svapāke yajatra yakṣadrājansarvatāteva nu dyauḥ triṣadhasthastataruṣo na jaṃho havyā maghāni mānuṣā yajadhyai
He who among you is at the morning rite, the worshipper, protector of kings, indeed the sky encompassing all: triple-placed, the aged do not sacrifice him; the oblations, treasures and men are offered by mortals in the rite.

tejiṣṭhā yasyāratirvanerāṭ todo adhvanna vṛdhasāno adyaut adrogho na dravitā cetati tmannamartyo'vartra oṣadhīṣu
She of greatest radiance whose force wanders in the forest, the mighty one who roars — today the strong one grows. The rain-cloud did not melt away; the mortal turned back not from herbs.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 6, Sukta 12 · Verse 6.12.4

sāsmākebhiretarī na śūṣairagniḥ ṣṭave dama ā jātavedāḥ drvanno vanvankratvā nārvosraḥ piteva jārayāyi yajñaiḥ
For us the fires came not dry by these rites; the born Vājins made the offering. Having fetched wood and the forest’s sap, they drank the pressed milk for the sacrifices.

adha smāsya panayanti bhāso vṛthā yattakṣadanuyāti pṛthvīm sadyo yaḥ syandro viṣito dhavīyānṛṇo na tāyurati dhanvā rāṭ
They cast forth vain beams that do not truly cut the earth; he who, struck by arrow, is smitten away — the swift charioteer does not save him, the warrior does not bring him back.

sa tvaṃ no arvannidāyā viśvebhiragne agnibhiridhānaḥ veṣi rāyo vi yāsi ducchunā madema śatahimāḥ suvīrāḥ
You, O Agni, who bear our prayers like a car, bring them to all with your many fires; you have clothed us with royal splendour — grant us, brave ones, a hundredfold might.
