ऋत॑स्य गोपा॒वधि॑ तिष्ठथो॒ रथं॒ सत्य॑धर्माणा पर॒मे व्यो॑मनि । यमत्र॑ मित्रावरु॒णाव॑थो यु॒वं तस्मै॑ वृ॒ष्टिर्मधु॑मत्पिन्वते दि॒वः
ṛtasya gopāvadhi tiṣṭhatho rathaṃ satyadharmāṇā parame vyomani yamatra mitrāvaruṇāvatho yuvaṃ tasmai vṛṣṭirmadhumatpinvate divaḥ
Stand, stewards of Ṛta, holding the chariot of true laws in the highest heaven. There where Mitra and Varuṇa stand youthful, may rain, like sweet mead, pour from heaven upon him.

स॒म्राजा॑व॒स्य भुव॑नस्य राजथो॒ मित्रा॑वरुणा वि॒दथे॑ स्व॒र्दृशा॑ । वृ॒ष्टिं वां॒ राधो॑ अमृत॒त्वमी॑महे॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी वि च॑रन्ति त॒न्यवः॑
samrājāvasya bhuvanasya rājatho mitrāvaruṇā vidathe svardṛśā vṛṣṭiṃ vāṃ rādho amṛtatvamīmahe dyāvāpṛthivī vi caranti tanyavaḥ
Kings of this world, lords of the realm, Mitra and Varuṇa behold with wide-seeing sight. We seek your rain, bestowing immortality; the sky and earth roam, carrying them onward.

स॒म्राजा॑ उ॒ग्रा वृ॑ष॒भा दि॒वस्पती॑ पृथि॒व्या मि॒त्रावरु॑णा॒ विच॑र्षणी । चि॒त्रेभि॑र॒भ्रैरुप॑ तिष्ठथो॒ रवं॒ द्यां व॑र्षयथो॒ असु॑रस्य मा॒यया॑
samrājā ugrā vṛṣabhā divaspatī pṛthivyā mitrāvaruṇā vicarṣaṇī citrebhirabhrairupa tiṣṭhatho ravaṃ dyāṃ varṣayatho asurasya māyayā
Mighty bulls, fierce lords of heaven and earth, Mitra and Varuṇa drive forth the showers. With variegated clouds they stand and awaken the sky with thunder; by the magic of the god their course pours rain.

मा॒या वां॑ मित्रावरुणा दि॒वि श्रि॒ता सूर्यो॒ ज्योति॑श्चरति चि॒त्रमायु॑धम् । तम॒भ्रेण॑ वृ॒ष्ट्या गू॑हथो दि॒वि पर्ज॑न्य द्र॒प्सा मधु॑मन्त ईरते
māyā vāṃ mitrāvaruṇā divi śritā sūryo jyotiścarati citramāyudham tamabhreṇa vṛṣṭyā gūhatho divi parjanya drapsā madhumanta īrate
By the magic of Mitra and Varuṇa, day is established; the sun moves with splendid weapons of light. With cloudy rain they hide and the divine rain god stores sweet drops.

रथं॑ युञ्जते म॒रुतः॑ शु॒भे सु॒खं शूरो॒ न मि॑त्रावरुणा॒ गवि॑ष्टिषु । रजां॑सि चि॒त्रा वि च॑रन्ति त॒न्यवो॑ दि॒वः स॑म्राजा॒ पय॑सा न उक्षतम्
rathaṃ yuñjate marutaḥ śubhe sukhaṃ śūro na mitrāvaruṇā gaviṣṭiṣu rajāṃsi citrā vi caranti tanyavo divaḥ samrājā payasā na ukṣatam
The Maruts yoked the chariot for auspicious comfort; not Mitra and Varuṇa in the realms of cattle. Bright drops and rays wander, those two heavens, the mighty lords, by no means lacking in streams of milk.

वाचं॒ सु मि॑त्रावरुणा॒विरा॑वतीं प॒र्जन्य॑श्चि॒त्रां व॑दति॒ त्विषी॑मतीम् । अ॒भ्रा व॑सत म॒रुतः॒ सु मा॒यया॒ द्यां व॑र्षयतमरु॒णाम॑रे॒पस॑म्
vācaṃ su mitrāvaruṇāvirāvatīṃ parjanyaścitrāṃ vadati tviṣīmatīm abhrā vasata marutaḥ su māyayā dyāṃ varṣayatamaruṇāmarepasam
Mitra and Varuṇa spoke the liberal, manifold-shedding rain with eloquence. The Maruts dwelt in clouds; by their magic they let the sky pour down the red dawn of morning.

धर्म॑णा मित्रावरुणा विपश्चिता व्र॒ता र॑क्षेथे॒ असु॑रस्य मा॒यया॑ । ऋ॒तेन॒ विश्वं॒ भुव॑नं॒ वि रा॑जथः॒ सूर्य॒मा ध॑त्थो दि॒वि चित्र्यं॒ रथ॑म्
dharmaṇā mitrāvaruṇā vipaścitā vratā rakṣethe asurasya māyayā ṛtena viśvaṃ bhuvanaṃ vi rājathaḥ sūryamā dhattho divi citryaṃ ratham
By laws, Mitra and Varuṇa, wise guardians, protect the vows by the god’s magic. In order the whole world, the realm of men, the sun set as king in the sky and fashioned the splendid chariot.
