By laws, Mitra and Varuṇa, wise guardians, protect the vows by the god’s magic. In order the whole world, the realm of men, the sun set as king in the sky and fashioned the splendid chariot.
Discerning, sagacious, Mitra and Varuṇa, by your office you protect pious rites, through the power of the emitter of showers; you illumine the whole world with water; you sustain the sun, the adorable chariot in the sky.
Wise, with your Law and through the Asura's magic power ye guard the ordinances, Mitra-Varuna. Ye by eternal Order govern all the world. Ye set the Sun in heaven as a refulgent car.
