The Maruts yoked the chariot for auspicious comfort; not Mitra and Varuṇa in the realms of cattle. Bright drops and rays wander, those two heavens, the mighty lords, by no means lacking in streams of milk.
The Maruts harness their easy-going chariot, Mitra and Varuṇa, for (the emission of) water, as a hero (harnesses his war-car); their forms traverse the different spheres to distribute the rain; do you, therefore, supreme rulers, shed upon us water from heaven.
The Maruts yoke their easy car for victory, O Mitra-Varuna, as a hero in the wars. The thunderers roam through regions varied in their hues. Imperial Kings, bedew us with the milk of heaven.
