Kings of this world, lords of the realm, Mitra and Varuṇa behold with wide-seeing sight. We seek your rain, bestowing immortality; the sky and earth roam, carrying them onward.
Imperial rulers of this world, you shine, Mitra and Varuṇa, at this sacrifice, the beholders of heaven; we ask of you the wealth (that is) rain, and immortality for your forms traverse earth and heaven.
This world's imperial Kings, O Mitra-Varuna, ye rule in holy synod, looking on the light. We pray for rain, your boon, and immortality. Through heaven and over earth the thunderers take their way.
