स प्र॒त्नथा॒ सह॑सा॒ जाय॑मानः स॒द्यः काव्या॑नि॒ बळ॑धत्त॒ विश्वा॑ । आप॑श्च मि॒त्रं धि॒षणा॑ च साधन्दे॒वा अ॒ग्निं धा॑रयन्द्रविणो॒दाम्
sa pratnathā sahasā jāyamānaḥ sadyaḥ kāvyāni baḷadhatta viśvā āpaśca mitraṃ dhiṣaṇā ca sādhandevā agniṃ dhārayandraviṇodām
He striving, born with might, immediately endowed all the past songs with strength. The gods adorned Mitra and the Wise; they established Agni, the bearer of delight.

स पूर्व॑या नि॒विदा॑ क॒व्यता॒योरि॒माः प्र॒जा अ॑जनय॒न्मनू॑नाम् । वि॒वस्व॑ता॒ चक्ष॑सा॒ द्याम॒पश्च॑ दे॒वा अ॒ग्निं धा॑रयन्द्रविणो॒दाम्
sa pūrvayā nividā kavyatāyorimāḥ prajā ajanayanmanūnām vivasvatā cakṣasā dyāmapaśca devā agniṃ dhārayandraviṇodām
With primeval knowledge he made these generations of poets and of sages; by the eye of Vivasvat and the sky, the gods established Agni, the bearer of delight.

तमी॑ळत प्रथ॒मं य॑ज्ञ॒साधं॒ विश॒ आरी॒राहु॑तमृञ्जसा॒नम् । ऊ॒र्जः पु॒त्रं भ॑र॒तं सृ॒प्रदा॑नुं दे॒वा अ॒ग्निं धा॑रयन्द्रविणो॒दाम्
tamīḷata prathamaṃ yajñasādhaṃ viśa ārīrāhutamṛñjasānam ūrjaḥ putraṃ bharataṃ sṛpradānuṃ devā agniṃ dhārayandraviṇodām
He first purified the ritual, the consecrated measure, smiting the hostile with fierce might. He bore Urja the son, Bharata the giver—thus the gods established Agni, the bearer of delight.

स मा॑त॒रिश्वा॑ पुरु॒वार॑पुष्टिर्वि॒दद्गा॒तुं तन॑याय स्व॒र्वित् । वि॒शां गो॒पा ज॑नि॒ता रोद॑स्योर्दे॒वा अ॒ग्निं धा॑रयन्द्रविणो॒दाम्
sa mātariśvā puruvārapuṣṭirvidadgātuṃ tanayāya svarvit viśāṃ gopā janitā rodasyordevā agniṃ dhārayandraviṇodām
May he, mother of steeds, strong-bodied before, grant going to the son with celestial understanding. The herdsman of villages was born of the peoples; the gods established Agni, the bearer of delight.

नक्तो॒षासा॒ वर्ण॑मा॒मेम्या॑ने धा॒पये॑ते॒ शिशु॒मेकं॑ समी॒ची । द्यावा॒क्षामा॑ रु॒क्मो अ॒न्तर्वि भा॑ति दे॒वा अ॒ग्निं धा॑रयन्द्रविणो॒दाम्
naktoṣāsā varṇamāmemyāne dhāpayete śiśumekaṃ samīcī dyāvākṣāmā rukmo antarvi bhāti devā agniṃ dhārayandraviṇodām
Night and dawn have yoked the radiant one; they bear young one together as a single team. The shining heaven and wide earth glow within; O gods, sustain Agni, bestower of ritual delight.

रा॒यो बु॒ध्नः सं॒गम॑नो॒ वसू॑नां य॒ज्ञस्य॑ के॒तुर्म॑न्म॒साध॑नो॒ वेः । अ॒मृ॒त॒त्वं रक्ष॑माणास एनं दे॒वा अ॒ग्निं धा॑रयन्द्रविणो॒दाम्
rāyo budhnaḥ saṃgamano vasūnāṃ yajñasya keturmanmasādhano veḥ amṛtatvaṃ rakṣamāṇāsa enaṃ devā agniṃ dhārayandraviṇodām
O radiant ones, the meeting of the brilliant rulers is the banner of the dwellers’ sacrifice, the binding of the mind. May the gods protect this immortality; sustain Agni, bestower of ritual delight.

नू च॑ पु॒रा च॒ सद॑नं रयी॒णां जा॒तस्य॑ च॒ जाय॑मानस्य च॒ क्षाम् । स॒तश्च॑ गो॒पां भव॑तश्च॒ भूरे॑र्दे॒वा अ॒ग्निं धा॑रयन्द्रविणो॒दाम्
nū ca purā ca sadanaṃ rayīṇāṃ jātasya ca jāyamānasya ca kṣām sataśca gopāṃ bhavataśca bhūrerdevā agniṃ dhārayandraviṇodām
Now indeed is the ample home, the wealth of past and newly born; may there be endurance. Be protector of herds and maker of plenty, O gods; sustain Agni, bestower of ritual delight.

द्र॒वि॒णो॒दा द्रवि॑णसस्तु॒रस्य॑ द्रविणो॒दाः सन॑रस्य॒ प्र यं॑सत् । द्र॒वि॒णो॒दा वी॒रव॑ती॒मिषं॑ नो द्रविणो॒दा रा॑सते दी॒र्घमायुः॑
draviṇodā draviṇasasturasya draviṇodāḥ sanarasya pra yaṃsat draviṇodā vīravatīmiṣaṃ no draviṇodā rāsate dīrghamāyuḥ
May the bringers of wealth, the rich givers, pour forth their riches; the wealthy bringers have made offerings to the strong one. May the bringers of wealth bestow heroic food upon us; may the wealthy bringers confer long life.

ए॒वा नो॑ अग्ने स॒मिधा॑ वृधा॒नो रे॒वत्पा॑वक॒ श्रव॑से॒ वि भा॑हि । तन्नो॑ मि॒त्रो वरु॑णो मामहन्ता॒मदि॑तिः॒ सिन्धुः॑ पृथि॒वी उ॒त द्यौः
evā no agne samidhā vṛdhāno revatpāvaka śravase vi bhāhi tanno mitro varuṇo māmahantāmaditiḥ sindhuḥ pṛthivī uta dyauḥ
Thus, O Agni, pile up our fuel, the vigorous wood, the purifier, the blazing one; let it come forth in fame and burning. Grant us Mitra and Varuna, the thoughtful ones, Aditi, Sindhu, Earth and also Heaven.
