उ॒प॒प्र॒यन्तो॑ अध्व॒रं मन्त्रं॑ वोचेमा॒ग्नये॑ । आ॒रे अ॒स्मे च॑ शृण्व॒ते
upaprayanto adhvaraṃ mantraṃ vocemāgnaye āre asme ca śaṛṇvate
Approaching the path we uttered the mantra to Agni. Hear, O Ares (or 'Raya'?), attend to us.

यः स्नीहि॑तीषु पू॒र्व्यः सं॑जग्मा॒नासु॑ कृ॒ष्टिषु॑ । अर॑क्षद्दा॒शुषे॒ गय॑म्
yaḥ snīhitīṣu pūrvyaḥ saṃjagmānāsu kṛṣṭiṣu arakṣaddāśuṣe gayam
He who, early, went among the loving, among the rising ones and the youthful, he kept guard of the hostile; give this song.

उ॒त ब्रु॑वन्तु ज॒न्तव॒ उद॒ग्निर्वृ॑त्र॒हाज॑नि । ध॒नं॒ज॒यो रणे॑रणे
uta bruvantu jantava udagnirvṛtrahājani dhanaṃjayo raṇeraṇe
They said: let the living ones speak — the unburning Fire struck down the Vrtra. Wealth, victory in war and battle.

यस्य॑ दू॒तो असि॒ क्षये॒ वेषि॑ ह॒व्यानि॑ वी॒तये॑ । द॒स्मत्कृ॒णोष्य॑ध्व॒रम्
yasya dūto asi kṣaye veṣi havyāni vītaye dasmatkṛṇoṣyadhvaram
Whose messenger you are, go to the place of decay; offer the oblations for the sacrifice. Thus establish the path.

तमित्सु॑ह॒व्यम॑ङ्गिरः सुदे॒वं स॑हसो यहो । जना॑ आहुः सुब॒र्हिष॑म्
tamitsuhavyamaṅgiraḥ sudevaṃ sahaso yaho janā āhuḥ subarhiṣam
In those offerings the Angiras, the godlike, with courage proclaimed; people called him well-invoked.

आ च॒ वहा॑सि॒ ताँ इ॒ह दे॒वाँ उप॒ प्रश॑स्तये । ह॒व्या सु॑श्चन्द्र वी॒तये॑
ā ca vahāsi tām̐ iha devām̐ upa praśastaye havyā suścandra vītaye
You, O priests, bring these here for praising the gods; offer the well-made oblation for the moon’s delight.

न योरु॑प॒ब्दिरश्व्यः॑ शृ॒ण्वे रथ॑स्य॒ कच्च॒न । यद॑ग्ने॒ यासि॑ दू॒त्य॑म्
na yorupabdiraśvyaḥ śaṛṇve rathasya kaccana yadagne yāsi dūtyam
There is no better gain for horses than the charioteer’s hearing; O Agni, go on the messenger’s errand at once.

त्वोतो॑ वा॒ज्यह्र॑यो॒ऽभि पूर्व॑स्मा॒दप॑रः । प्र दा॒श्वाँ अ॑ग्ने अस्थात्
tvoto vājyahrayo'bhi pūrvasmādaparaḥ pra dāśvām̐ agne asthāt
You, from before and behind, have come with powerful might; Agni stood forth and gave the offerings to the steeds.

उ॒त द्यु॒मत्सु॒वीर्यं॑ बृ॒हद॑ग्ने विवाससि । दे॒वेभ्यो॑ देव दा॒शुषे॑
uta dyumatsuvīryaṃ bṛhadagne vivāsasi devebhyo deva dāśuṣe
Bring strength to the heavens and to the brave, great Agni, you spread forth; give to the gods, O God, the sacred gifts.
