त्वं म॒हाँ इ॑न्द्र॒ यो ह॒ शुष्मै॒र्द्यावा॑ जज्ञा॒नः पृ॑थि॒वी अमे॑ धाः । यद्ध॑ ते॒ विश्वा॑ गि॒रय॑श्चि॒दभ्वा॑ भि॒या दृ॒ळ्हासः॑ कि॒रणा॒ नैज॑न्
tvaṃ mahām̐ indra yo ha śuṣmairdyāvā jajñānaḥ pṛthivī ame dhāḥ yaddha te viśvā girayaścidabhvā bhiyā dṛḷhāsaḥ kiraṇā naijan
You, great Indra, who with a slight breath measured out the heavens and the earth—those spaces belong to you. By whose rays all the mountains and the worlds came into being, the bold and mighty ones—these are yours.

आ यद्धरी॑ इन्द्र॒ विव्र॑ता॒ वेरा ते॒ वज्रं॑ जरि॒ता बा॒ह्वोर्धा॑त् । येना॑विहर्यतक्रतो अ॒मित्रा॒न्पुर॑ इ॒ष्णासि॑ पुरुहूत पू॒र्वीः
ā yaddharī indra vivratā verā te vajraṃ jaritā bāhvordhāt yenāviharyatakrato amitrānpura iṣṇāsi puruhūta pūrvīḥ
O Indra, when you unleashed your wrath you hurled forth the thunderbolt with mighty arms. By that with which you overwhelmed the foes you sought the city and the ancient sacrificers who had removed the oblations.

त्वं स॒त्य इ॑न्द्र धृ॒ष्णुरे॒तान्त्वमृ॑भु॒क्षा नर्य॒स्त्वं षाट् । त्वं शुष्णं॑ वृ॒जने॑ पृ॒क्ष आ॒णौ यूने॒ कुत्सा॑य द्यु॒मते॒ सचा॑हन्
tvaṃ satya indra dhṛṣṇuretāntvamṛbhukṣā naryastvaṃ ṣāṭ tvaṃ śuṣṇaṃ vṛjane pṛkṣa āṇau yūne kutsāya dyumate sacāhan
You are truthful, Indra, courageous in battle; you are the hunger of men and their protector. You are harsh to the knavish, you withstand the foe; you, O radiant one, support the heaven together with the earth.

त्वं ह॒ त्यदि॑न्द्र चोदीः॒ सखा॑ वृ॒त्रं यद्व॑ज्रिन्वृषकर्मन्नु॒भ्नाः । यद्ध॑ शूर वृषमणः परा॒चैर्वि दस्यू॒ँर्योना॒वकृ॑तो वृथा॒षाट्
tvaṃ ha tyadindra codīḥ sakhā vṛtraṃ yadvajrinvṛṣakarmannubhnāḥ yaddha śūra vṛṣamaṇaḥ parācairvi dasyūm̐ryonāvakṛto vṛthāṣāṭ
When you, Indra, smote Vritra, friend of the slayer, you struck the bolt from the deed of the bull‑worker. When the brave bull‑killer pierced the foremost foemen, their hosts were made vain and powerless.

त्वं ह॒ त्यदि॒न्द्रारि॑षण्यन्दृ॒ळ्हस्य॑ चि॒न्मर्ता॑ना॒मजु॑ष्टौ । व्य१॒॑स्मदा काष्ठा॒ अर्व॑ते वर्घ॒नेव॑ वज्रिञ्छ्नथिह्य॒मित्रा॑न्
tvaṃ ha tyadindrāriṣaṇyandṛḷhasya cinmartānāmajuṣṭau vya1smadā kāṣṭhā arvate varghaneva vajriñchnathihyamitrān
When you, Indra, assailed the hostile and the obstinate, and struck down the hostile bands, our timber‑like foes were scattered like hostile darts; the thunderer made the enemies perish.

त्वां ह॒ त्यदि॒न्द्रार्ण॑सातौ॒ स्व॑र्मीळ्हे॒ नर॑ आ॒जा ह॑वन्ते । तव॑ स्वधाव इ॒यमा स॑म॒र्य ऊ॒तिर्वाजे॑ष्वत॒साय्या॑ भूत्
tvāṃ ha tyadindrārṇasātau svarmīḷhe nara ājā havante tava svadhāva iyamā samarya ūtirvājeṣvatasāyyā bhūt
When you, Indra, in your might like a flood, overwhelmed men and took away their strength, their offerings fell low. Your swift-armed power went forth among the warriors; you have been present in the heroic host.

त्वं ह॒ त्यदि॑न्द्र स॒प्त युध्य॒न्पुरो॑ वज्रिन्पुरु॒कुत्सा॑य दर्दः । ब॒र्हिर्न यत्सु॒दासे॒ वृथा॒ वर्गं॒हो रा॑ज॒न्वरि॑वः पू॒रवे॑ कः
tvaṃ ha tyadindra sapta yudhyanpuro vajrinpurukutsāya dardaḥ barhirna yatsudāse vṛthā vargaṃho rājanvarivaḥ pūrave kaḥ
When you, Indra, fought seven battles at the town, O thunderer, the multitude of foes was routed. Not one of the host remained; O king, who then was like an enemy in the foremost ranks?

त्वं त्यां न॑ इन्द्र देव चि॒त्रामिष॒मापो॒ न पी॑पयः॒ परि॑ज्मन् । यया॑ शूर॒ प्रत्य॒स्मभ्यं॒ यंसि॒ त्मन॒मूर्जं॒ न वि॒श्वध॒ क्षर॑ध्यै
tvaṃ tyāṃ na indra deva citrāmiṣamāpo na pīpayaḥ parijman yayā śūra pratyasmabhyaṃ yaṃsi tmanamūrjaṃ na viśvadha kṣaradhyai
Not this you, O Indra, O god, soothe by draughts of lovely mead to make it swell; by which the brave return to us—who makes you, O hero, not to perish in all wide‑reaching might?

अका॑रि त इन्द्र॒ गोत॑मेभि॒र्ब्रह्मा॒ण्योक्ता॒ नम॑सा॒ हरि॑भ्याम् । सु॒पेश॑सं॒ वाज॒मा भ॑रा नः प्रा॒तर्म॒क्षू धि॒याव॑सुर्जगम्यात्
akāri ta indra gotamebhirbrahmāṇyoktā namasā haribhyām supeśasaṃ vājamā bharā naḥ prātarmakṣū dhiyāvasurjagamyāt
Indra made offerings to the Gotamas; Brahman was invoked, salutations to Hari. The strong, abundant milk‑giver came forth for us at morning with sight and thought.
