तत्त॑ इन्द्रि॒यं प॑र॒मं प॑रा॒चैरधा॑रयन्त क॒वयः॑ पु॒रेदम् । क्ष॒मेदम॒न्यद्दि॒व्य१॒॑न्यद॑स्य॒ समी॑ पृच्यते सम॒नेव॑ के॒तुः
tatta indriyaṃ paramaṃ parācairadhārayanta kavayaḥ puredam kṣamedamanyaddivya1nyadasya samī pṛcyate samaneva ketuḥ
Those poets held that supreme sense, the highest secret, and laid it forth in this city. This realm is asked about as another divine thing—truly the banner is sought with the same thought.

स धा॑रयत्पृथि॒वीं प॒प्रथ॑च्च॒ वज्रे॑ण ह॒त्वा निर॒पः स॑सर्ज । अह॒न्नहि॒मभि॑नद्रौहि॒णं व्यह॒न्व्यं॑सं म॒घवा॒ शची॑भिः
sa dhārayatpṛthivīṃ paprathacca vajreṇa hatvā nirapaḥ sasarja ahannahimabhinadrauhiṇaṃ vyahanvyaṃsaṃ maghavā śacībhiḥ
He upheld the earth and established the firmament with the thunderbolt; striking down the resisting foe he created anew. At dawn he smote the hostile herd; with strength the mighty ones carried him along with heroic might.

स जा॒तूभ॑र्मा श्र॒द्दधा॑न॒ ओजः॒ पुरो॑ विभि॒न्दन्न॑चर॒द्वि दासीः॑ । वि॒द्वान्व॑ज्रि॒न्दस्य॑वे हे॒तिम॒स्यार्यं॒ सहो॑ वर्धया द्यु॒म्नमि॑न्द्र
sa jātūbharmā śraddadhāna ojaḥ puro vibhindannacaradvi dāsīḥ vidvānvajrindasyave hetimasyāryaṃ saho vardhayā dyumnamindra
May she, bearer of life, confidently bestow vigour like a stalwart lance; the wise one, like a thunderbolt, pierced the foe and increased the splendid glory of heaven and Indra.

तदू॒चुषे॒ मानु॑षे॒मा यु॒गानि॑ की॒र्तेन्यं॑ म॒घवा॒ नाम॒ बिभ्र॑त् । उ॒प॒प्र॒यन्द॑स्यु॒हत्या॑य व॒ज्री यद्ध॑ सू॒नुः श्रव॑से॒ नाम॑ द॒धे
tadūcuṣe mānuṣemā yugāni kīrtenyaṃ maghavā nāma bibhrat upaprayandasyuhatyāya vajrī yaddha sūnuḥ śravase nāma dadhe
Those ages, called Maghavas, were borne by fame among men. For the slayer’s cause the vigorous Vajra followed the famed offering; they placed for him the name Ravasu (Shravasu).

तद॑स्ये॒दं प॑श्यता॒ भूरि॑ पु॒ष्टं श्रदिन्द्र॑स्य धत्तन वी॒र्या॑य । स गा अ॑विन्द॒त्सो अ॑विन्द॒दश्वा॒न्स ओष॑धीः॒ सो अ॒पः स वना॑नि
tadasyedaṃ paśyatā bhūri puṣṭaṃ śradindrasya dhattana vīryāya sa gā avindatso avindadaśvānsa oṣadhīḥ so apaḥ sa vanāni
See how much he bestowed, abundant sustenance for Indra’s strength: he gave cows, mares, herbs, waters and forests.

भूरि॑कर्मणे वृष॒भाय॒ वृष्णे॑ स॒त्यशु॑ष्माय सुनवाम॒ सोम॑म् । य आ॒दृत्या॑ परिप॒न्थीव॒ शूरोऽय॑ज्वनो वि॒भज॒न्नेति॒ वेदः॑
bhūrikarmaṇe vṛṣabhāya vṛṣṇe satyaśuṣmāya sunavāma somam ya ādṛtyā paripanthīva śūro'yajvano vibhajanneti vedaḥ
Much-working, like a bull to heroic vigour, he offered Soma with prosperous heat. He who, like the sun’s path, glorious and swift, spreads the knowledge — that is the Veda.
Rigveda 1.103.07

तदि॑न्द्र॒ प्रेव॑ वी॒र्यं॑ चकर्थ॒ यत्स॒सन्तं॒ वज्रे॒णाबो॑ध॒योऽहि॑म् । अनु॑ त्वा॒ पत्नी॑र्हृषि॒तं वय॑श्च॒ विश्वे॑ दे॒वासो॑ अमद॒न्ननु॑ त्वा
tadindra preva vīryaṃ cakartha yatsasantaṃ vajreṇābodhayo'him anu tvā patnīrhṛṣitaṃ vayaśca viśve devāso amadannanu tvā
Then Indra sent forth valour which, by the potent thunderbolt, he made wakeful and perceptive. Following you, O joyful spouse, all the gods honored you and fed you.

शुष्णं॒ पिप्रुं॒ कुय॑वं वृ॒त्रमि॑न्द्र य॒दाव॑धी॒र्वि पुरः॒ शम्ब॑रस्य । तन्नो॑ मि॒त्रो वरु॑णो मामहन्ता॒मदि॑तिः॒ सिन्धुः॑ पृथि॒वी उ॒त द्यौः
śuṣṇaṃ pipruṃ kuyavaṃ vṛtramindra yadāvadhīrvi puraḥ śambarasya tanno mitro varuṇo māmahantāmaditiḥ sindhuḥ pṛthivī uta dyauḥ
They asked for the dried, the potent, the Vritra-slaying drink which stood before the treasure of abundance. May Mitra and Varuna, Aditi, Sindhu, Earth and Heaven grant that to us.
