अ॒भि नो॑ वाज॒सात॑मं र॒यिम॑र्ष पुरु॒स्पृह॑म् । इन्दो॑ स॒हस्र॑भर्णसं तुविद्यु॒म्नं वि॑भ्वा॒सह॑म्
abhi no vājasātamaṃ rayimarṣa puruspṛham indo sahasrabharṇasaṃ tuvidyumnaṃ vibhvāsaham
Bring to us the most excellent wealth, the desire of men and cattle. Indra, with thousand-hued splendour, thunderous and shining, be our illustrious might.

परि॒ ष्य सु॑वा॒नो अ॒व्ययं॒ रथे॒ न वर्मा॑व्यत । इन्दु॑र॒भि द्रुणा॑ हि॒तो हि॑या॒नो धारा॑भिरक्षाः
pari ṣya suvāno avyayaṃ rathe na varmāvyata indurabhi druṇā hito hiyāno dhārābhirakṣāḥ
Drive round about, strong and imperishable, the chariot; the armour did not fall off. Around Indra the drumbeats are struck, the streams protect with guards.

परि॒ ष्य सु॑वा॒नो अ॑क्षा॒ इन्दु॒रव्ये॒ मद॑च्युतः । धारा॒ य ऊ॒र्ध्वो अ॑ध्व॒रे भ्रा॒जा नैति॑ गव्य॒युः
pari ṣya suvāno akṣā induravye madacyutaḥ dhārā ya ūrdhvo adhvare bhrājā naiti gavyayuḥ
Drive round about, strong one; Indra’s eye, unerring, has not been shaken. Streams rise upward and downward; the bulls go not astray.

स हि त्वं दे॑व॒ शश्व॑ते॒ वसु॒ मर्ता॑य दा॒शुषे॑ । इन्दो॑ सह॒स्रिणं॑ र॒यिं श॒तात्मा॑नं विवाससि
sa hi tvaṃ deva śaśvate vasu martāya dāśuṣe indo sahasriṇaṃ rayiṃ śatātmānaṃ vivāsasi
Yes, you, O god, are ever wealth-bestower to mortals and to the oppressed. Indra endowed with a thousandfold riches gives the abundant wealth to the thrifty.

व॒यं ते॑ अ॒स्य वृ॑त्रह॒न्वसो॒ वस्वः॑ पुरु॒स्पृहः॑ । नि नेदि॑ष्ठतमा इ॒षः स्याम॑ सु॒म्नस्या॑ध्रिगो
vayaṃ te asya vṛtrahanvaso vasvaḥ puruspṛhaḥ ni nediṣṭhatamā iṣaḥ syāma sumnasyādhrigo
We are your slayers of Vritra’s brood, O Vasus, desirous of heroic deeds. Let us be the most determined helpers of Sūrya’s friend.

द्विर्यं पञ्च॒ स्वय॑शसं॒ स्वसा॑रो॒ अद्रि॑संहतम् । प्रि॒यमिन्द्र॑स्य॒ काम्यं॑ प्रस्ना॒पय॑न्त्यू॒र्मिण॑म्
dviryaṃ pañca svayaśasaṃ svasāro adrisaṃhatam priyamindrasya kāmyaṃ prasnāpayantyūrmiṇam
Five-fold strength, with famed prowess, gathered like mountain streams—may they please Indra; may they cause the desire of his beloved to be fulfilled and slay the hostile foe.

परि॒ त्यं ह॑र्य॒तं हरिं॑ ब॒भ्रुं पु॑नन्ति॒ वारे॑ण । यो दे॒वान्विश्वा॒ँ इत्परि॒ मदे॑न स॒ह गच्छ॑ति
pari tyaṃ haryataṃ hariṃ babhruṃ punanti vāreṇa yo devānviśvām̐ itpari madena saha gacchati
They purify the bright, effulgent Hari and Bṛhru with the oblation; whoever together with this libation goes to all the gods, goes with delight.

अ॒स्य वो॒ ह्यव॑सा॒ पान्तो॑ दक्ष॒साध॑नम् । यः सू॒रिषु॒ श्रवो॑ बृ॒हद्द॒धे स्व१॒॑र्ण ह॑र्य॒तः
asya vo hyavasā pānto dakṣasādhanam yaḥ sūriṣu śravo bṛhaddadhe sva1rṇa haryataḥ
For him the waters indeed flow away, the skillful sacrificer purified his rites; he who made the famed wealth great among the Sūras has won Hari’s ear.

स वां॑ य॒ज्ञेषु॑ मानवी॒ इन्दु॑र्जनिष्ट रोदसी । दे॒वो दे॑वी गिरि॒ष्ठा अस्रे॑ध॒न्तं तु॑वि॒ष्वणि॑
sa vāṃ yajñeṣu mānavī indurjaniṣṭa rodasī devo devī giriṣṭhā asredhantaṃ tuviṣvaṇi
He, in your sacrifices, as a human, is like the moon among folk—restoring the rivers; the god, the foremost goddess, pours into your streams.

इन्द्रा॑य सोम॒ पात॑वे वृत्र॒घ्ने परि॑ षिच्यसे । नरे॑ च॒ दक्षि॑णावते दे॒वाय॑ सदना॒सदे॑
indrāya soma pātave vṛtraghne pari ṣicyase nare ca dakṣiṇāvate devāya sadanāsade
To Indra, to Soma, to the slayer of Vṛtra you pour down the oblation; and to the man of right hand the god gives dwelling, both gods and non-gods.

ते प्र॒त्नासो॒ व्यु॑ष्टिषु॒ सोमाः॑ प॒वित्रे॑ अक्षरन् । अ॒प॒प्रोथ॑न्तः सनु॒तर्हु॑र॒श्चितः॑ प्रा॒तस्ताँ अप्र॑चेतसः
te pratnāso vyuṣṭiṣu somāḥ pavitre akṣaran apaprothantaḥ sanutarhuraścitaḥ prātastām̐ apracetasaḥ
Those Soma streams, striving in the spreadings, purify the sacred ones and bear imperishable fame; pouring forth, they rise, watchful at dawn—those unknowing ones.

तं स॑खायः पुरो॒रुचं॑ यू॒यं व॒यं च॑ सू॒रयः॑ । अ॒श्याम॒ वाज॑गन्ध्यं स॒नेम॒ वाज॑पस्त्यम्
taṃ sakhāyaḥ purorucaṃ yūyaṃ vayaṃ ca sūrayaḥ aśyāma vājagandhyaṃ sanema vājapastyam
You, friends, formerly bright in the city, you heroes and we—this fragrant, mighty Vāja we brought as an offering, the Vājapeya ritual.
