अ॒यं त॑ एमि त॒न्वा॑ पु॒रस्ता॒द्विश्वे॑ दे॒वा अ॒भि मा॑ यन्ति प॒श्चात् । य॒दा मह्यं॒ दीध॑रो भा॒गमि॒न्द्रादिन्मया॑ कृणवो वी॒र्या॑णि
ayaṃ ta emi tanvā purastādviśve devā abhi mā yanti paścāt yadā mahyaṃ dīdharo bhāgamindrādinmayā kṛṇavo vīryāṇi
This I send forth, stretching forward; all the gods go before and after. When the giver placed a share for me, Indra and others made me strong.

दधा॑मि ते॒ मधु॑नो भ॒क्षमग्रे॑ हि॒तस्ते॑ भा॒गः सु॒तो अ॑स्तु॒ सोमः॑ । अस॑श्च॒ त्वं द॑क्षिण॒तः सखा॒ मेऽधा॑ वृ॒त्राणि॑ जङ्घनाव॒ भूरि॑
dadhāmi te madhuno bhakṣamagre hitaste bhāgaḥ suto astu somaḥ asaśca tvaṃ dakṣiṇataḥ sakhā me'dhā vṛtrāṇi jaṅghanāva bhūri
I set for you the sweet feast; may the good share be foremost — let Soma be the son. And you, on the right as friend, trample Vṛtra with great knees.

प्र सु स्तोमं॑ भरत वाज॒यन्त॒ इन्द्रा॑य स॒त्यं यदि॑ स॒त्यमस्ति॑ । नेन्द्रो॑ अ॒स्तीति॒ नेम॑ उ त्व आह॒ क ईं॑ ददर्श॒ कम॒भि ष्ट॑वाम
pra su stomaṃ bharata vājayanta indrāya satyaṃ yadi satyamasti nendro astīti nema u tva āha ka īṃ dadarśa kamabhi ṣṭavāma
Offer the hymn, O Bharata, sing the praises to Indra if truth exists. If Indra is present, let him be; he who established the law I saw performing the rite I desired.

अ॒यम॑स्मि जरितः॒ पश्य॑ मे॒ह विश्वा॑ जा॒तान्य॒भ्य॑स्मि म॒ह्ना । ऋ॒तस्य॑ मा प्र॒दिशो॑ वर्धयन्त्यादर्दि॒रो भुव॑ना दर्दरीमि
ayamasmi jaritaḥ paśya meha viśvā jātānyabhyasmi mahnā ṛtasya mā pradiśo vardhayantyādardiro bhuvanā dardarīmi
I am he who has grown old; see my might — all births are with me by great force. Do not make the realms of ṛta increase; I rend the worlds, I rend them as a ploughshare.

आ यन्मा॑ वे॒ना अरु॑हन्नृ॒तस्य॒ँ एक॒मासी॑नं हर्य॒तस्य॑ पृ॒ष्ठे । मन॑श्चिन्मे हृ॒द आ प्रत्य॑वोच॒दचि॑क्रद॒ञ्छिशु॑मन्तः॒ सखा॑यः
ā yanmā venā aruhannṛtasyam̐ ekamāsīnaṃ haryatasya pṛṣṭhe manaścinme hṛda ā pratyavocadacikradañchiśumantaḥ sakhāyaḥ
May he not mount upon me with his flood, seizing the single seat of dancing upon my back. Let mind and heart answer me; O friends, restrain the eager young within.

विश्वेत्ता ते॒ सव॑नेषु प्र॒वाच्या॒ या च॒कर्थ॑ मघवन्निन्द्र सुन्व॒ते । पारा॑वतं॒ यत्पु॑रुसम्भृ॒तं वस्व॒पावृ॑णोः शर॒भाय॒ ऋषि॑बन्धवे
viśvettā te savaneṣu pravācyā yā cakartha maghavannindra sunvate pārāvataṃ yatpurusambhṛtaṃ vasvapāvṛṇoḥ śarabhāya ṛṣibandhave
You who know all, in the assemblies you caused the flowing, that which Maghavan Indra well praised. Beyond is that man-born host which Vasava uncovered for Sharbhāya, O sage's kin.

प्र नू॒नं धा॑वता॒ पृथ॒ङ्नेह यो वो॒ अवा॑वरीत् । नि षीं॑ वृ॒त्रस्य॒ मर्म॑णि॒ वज्र॒मिन्द्रो॑ अपीपतत्
pra nūnaṃ dhāvatā pṛthaṅneha yo vo avāvarīt ni ṣīṃ vṛtrasya marmaṇi vajramindro apīpatat
Indeed, running forth you overturned what stood in the plain. The bolt of Indra struck into the very heart of Vṛtra and split him.

मनो॑जवा॒ अय॑मान आय॒सीम॑तर॒त्पुर॑म् । दिवं॑ सुप॒र्णो ग॒त्वाय॒ सोमं॑ व॒ज्रिण॒ आभ॑रत्
manojavā ayamāna āyasīmataratpuram divaṃ suparṇo gatvāya somaṃ vajriṇa ābharat
Swift of mind, measuring prowess, you sped through the town. The winged one ascended to heaven; he bore Soma, the thunder-armed one, radiant.

स॒मु॒द्रे अ॒न्तः श॑यत उ॒द्ना वज्रो॑ अ॒भीवृ॑तः । भर॑न्त्यस्मै सं॒यतः॑ पु॒रःप्र॑स्रवणा ब॒लिम्
samudre antaḥ śayata udnā vajro abhīvṛtaḥ bharantyasmai saṃyataḥ puraḥprasravaṇā balim
Within the sea lay the bolt that surged upward. They carry for him the oblation poured forth from the interior, the outflowing offering.

यद्वाग्वद॑न्त्यविचेत॒नानि॒ राष्ट्री॑ दे॒वानां॑ निष॒साद॑ म॒न्द्रा । चत॑स्र॒ ऊर्जं॑ दुदुहे॒ पयां॑सि॒ क्व॑ स्विदस्याः पर॒मं ज॑गाम
yadvāgvadantyavicetanāni rāṣṭrī devānāṃ niṣasāda mandrā catasra ūrjaṃ duduhe payāṃsi kva svidasyāḥ paramaṃ jagāma
When speech spoke the mindless, when the nations of the gods sank low, fourfold strength milked forth your energies; where did the highest of this being go?

दे॒वीं वाच॑मजनयन्त दे॒वास्तां वि॒श्वरू॑पाः प॒शवो॑ वदन्ति । सा नो॑ म॒न्द्रेष॒मूर्जं॒ दुहा॑ना धे॒नुर्वाग॒स्मानुप॒ सुष्टु॒तैतु॑
devīṃ vācamajanayanta devāstāṃ viśvarūpāḥ paśavo vadanti sā no mandreṣamūrjaṃ duhānā dhenurvāgasmānupa suṣṭutaitu
The goddesses gave birth to speech; the gods speak of them as many-formed, the beasts speak. She milked for us the mighty udder of the hymns — may the cow of praise come to our speech.

सखे॑ विष्णो वित॒रं वि क्र॑मस्व॒ द्यौर्दे॒हि लो॒कं वज्रा॑य वि॒ष्कभे॑ । हना॑व वृ॒त्रं रि॒णचा॑व॒ सिन्धू॒निन्द्र॑स्य यन्तु प्रस॒वे विसृ॑ष्टाः
sakhe viṣṇo vitaraṃ vi kramasva dyaurdehi lokaṃ vajrāya viṣkabhe hanāva vṛtraṃ riṇacāva sindhūnindrasya yantu prasave visṛṣṭāḥ
Friend, distribute Vishnu, stride forth; give heaven, the world to the thunder-armed. Strike Vṛtra, shatter the fetters; let the rivers of Indra go forth released.
