Praise the pure new-born today—Indra and Agni, slayers of Vr̥tra, be gracious. Both of you, O comrades, I call to the rite: may that strength now quickly advance, most mighty.

They, the pleasant resters, are like buried offerings; together with the elders they have spread the slain ones’ feasts. The wealth of kine grows, the abundant prize for the vigorous, the store of fatness.

Bring near what the skilful performers have strewn with protectors, the Brahmins seeking thought. They do not break the timber nor rot away—Indra and Agni made the men sacrificial.

saṃ yanmahī mithatī spardhamāne tanūrucā śūrasātā yataite adevayuṃ vidathe devayubhiḥ satrā hataṃ somasutā janena
As these contended in the earth with mutual rivalry, their frames bright and heroic—so the impious were struck down in the assembly of gods; Soma’s sons were slain by the people.

Bring this Soma-offering here to Indra and Agni with pleasant assemblies. Now indeed accomplish for us by measured might, with your enduring powers, the riches of the worships.
