इ॒न्धे राजा॒ सम॒र्यो नमो॑भि॒र्यस्य॒ प्रती॑क॒माहु॑तं घृ॒तेन॑ । नरो॑ ह॒व्येभि॑रीळते स॒बाध॒ आग्निरग्र॑ उ॒षसा॑मशोचि
indhe rājā samaryo namobhiryasya pratīkamāhutaṃ ghṛtena naro havyebhirīḷate sabādha āgniragra uṣasāmaśoci
O king Indra, famed in battle, salutations—he was invoked with ghee as token. The man offers oblations; Agni, leader of dawns, laments not their coming with sacrifices.

अ॒यमु॒ ष्य सुम॑हाँ अवेदि॒ होता॑ म॒न्द्रो मनु॑षो य॒ह्वो अ॒ग्निः । वि भा अ॑कः ससृजा॒नः पृ॑थि॒व्यां कृ॒ष्णप॑वि॒रोष॑धीभिर्ववक्षे
ayamu ṣya sumahām̐ avedi hotā mandro manuṣo yahvo agniḥ vi bhā akaḥ sasṛjānaḥ pṛthivyāṃ kṛṣṇapaviroṣadhībhirvavakṣe
This great seer perceived the sacrificer; the gentle charioteer is man, Agni the god. He formed the bright sun, appointed herbs on earth, and made the black soil fertile for us.

कया॑ नो अग्ने॒ वि व॑सः सुवृ॒क्तिं कामु॑ स्व॒धामृ॑णवः श॒स्यमा॑नः । क॒दा भ॑वेम॒ पत॑यः सुदत्र रा॒यो व॒न्तारो॑ दु॒ष्टर॑स्य सा॒धोः
kayā no agne vi vasaḥ suvṛktiṃ kāmu svadhāmṛṇavaḥ śasyamānaḥ kadā bhavema patayaḥ sudatra rāyo vantāro duṣṭarasya sādhoḥ
By what wealth, Agni, do you grant us abundant blessings, the desired share, the life-imbuing oblation? When shall we be lords, wealthy in wide lands, prosperous in mighty contests, escaping evil counsel?

प्रप्रा॒यम॒ग्निर्भ॑र॒तस्य॑ शृण्वे॒ वि यत्सूर्यो॒ न रोच॑ते बृ॒हद्भाः । अ॒भि यः पू॒रुं पृत॑नासु त॒स्थौ द्यु॑ता॒नो दैव्यो॒ अति॑थिः शुशोच
praprāyamagnirbharatasya śaṛṇve vi yatsūryo na rocate bṛhadbhāḥ abhi yaḥ pūruṃ pṛtanāsu tasthau dyutāno daivyo atithiḥ śuśoca
Agni bears the praise of Bharata; hear what the sun does not reveal, the great shining. He whom men set before the many, the divine guest, stood among the chiefs, revered.

अस॒न्नित्त्वे आ॒हव॑नानि॒ भूरि॒ भुवो॒ विश्वे॑भिः सु॒मना॒ अनी॑कैः । स्तु॒तश्चि॑दग्ने शृण्विषे गृणा॒नः स्व॒यं व॑र्धस्व त॒न्वं॑ सुजात
asannittve āhavanāni bhūri bhuvo viśvebhiḥ sumanā anīkaiḥ stutaścidagne śaṛṇviṣe gṛṇānaḥ svayaṃ vardhasva tanvaṃ sujāta
Because of nearness you increase invocations manifold—earths and heavens, all the worlds with many good minds. O Agni, hear the praise of singers; prosper thyself, grow strong, O noble-born.

इ॒दं वचः॑ शत॒साः संस॑हस्र॒मुद॒ग्नये॑ जनिषीष्ट द्वि॒बर्हाः॑ । शं यत्स्तो॒तृभ्य॑ आ॒पये॒ भवा॑ति द्यु॒मद॑मीव॒चात॑नं रक्षो॒हा
idaṃ vacaḥ śatasāḥ saṃsahasramudagnaye janiṣīṣṭa dvibarhāḥ śaṃ yatstotṛbhya āpaye bhavāti dyumadamīvacātanaṃ rakṣohā
This speech of a hundred and a thousandfold strengthenings, to the fire borne by two priests—may what thou givest to the singers be like heaven preserving us; protect this people.

नू त्वाम॑ग्न ईमहे॒ वसि॑ष्ठा ईशा॒नं सू॑नो सहसो॒ वसू॑नाम् । इषं॑ स्तो॒तृभ्यो॑ म॒घव॑द्भ्य आनड्यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः
nū tvāmagna īmahe vasiṣṭhā īśānaṃ sūno sahaso vasūnām iṣaṃ stotṛbhyo maghavadbhya ānaḍyūyaṃ pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ
Now we praise thee, Agni, Vasistha, lordly Ishana, son by might of the Vasus. Grant this to the worshippers, O glorious one; may prosperity attend us evermore.
