उपो॑ रुरुचे युव॒तिर्न योषा॒ विश्वं॑ जी॒वं प्र॑सु॒वन्ती॑ च॒रायै॑ । अभू॑द॒ग्निः स॒मिधे॒ मानु॑षाणा॒मक॒र्ज्योति॒र्बाध॑माना॒ तमां॑सि
upo ruruce yuvatirna yoṣā viśvaṃ jīvaṃ prasuvantī carāyai abhūdagniḥ samidhe mānuṣāṇāmakarjyotirbādhamānā tamāṃsi
A youthful maiden sang above, who filled all life with song. Agni became the ember-fire of mortals, a lamp dispelling darkness in the flesh.

विश्वं॑ प्रती॒ची स॒प्रथा॒ उद॑स्था॒द्रुश॒द्वासो॒ बिभ्र॑ती शु॒क्रम॑श्वैत् । हिर॑ण्यवर्णा सु॒दृशी॑कसंदृ॒ग्गवां॑ मा॒ता ने॒त्र्यह्ना॑मरोचि
viśvaṃ pratīcī saprathā udasthādruśadvāso bibhratī śukramaśvait hiraṇyavarṇā sudṛśīkasaṃdṛggavāṃ mātā netryahnāmaroci
All the eastern world shone, the bright-robed Dawn appeared, bearing clear light like a golden-hued mother; she made the eyes of men bright at daybreak.

दे॒वानां॒ चक्षुः॑ सु॒भगा॒ वह॑न्ती श्वे॒तं नय॑न्ती सु॒दृशी॑क॒मश्व॑म् । उ॒षा अ॑दर्शि र॒श्मिभि॒र्व्य॑क्ता चि॒त्राम॑घा॒ विश्व॒मनु॒ प्रभू॑ता
devānāṃ cakṣuḥ subhagā vahantī śvetaṃ nayantī sudṛśīkamaśvam uṣā adarśi raśmibhirvyaktā citrāmaghā viśvamanu prabhūtā
The gods' auspicious eye carries whiteness, leading a fair, good-horsed steed. Dawn revealed herself with rays, splendid and manifold, ruling over the world.

अन्ति॑वामा दू॒रे अ॒मित्र॑मुच्छो॒र्वीं गव्यू॑ति॒मभ॑यं कृधी नः । या॒वय॒ द्वेष॒ आ भ॑रा॒ वसू॑नि चो॒दय॒ राधो॑ गृण॒ते म॑घोनि
antivāmā dūre amitramucchorvīṃ gavyūtimabhayaṃ kṛdhī naḥ yāvaya dveṣa ā bharā vasūni codaya rādho gṛṇate maghoni
At the far limit banish the hostile one; make us fearless in the herd of kine. Drive away hateful envy that burdens the cattle; let the stirring praise be spoken in the assembly.

अ॒स्मे श्रेष्ठे॑भिर्भा॒नुभि॒र्वि भा॒ह्युषो॑ देवि प्रति॒रन्ती॑ न॒ आयुः॑ । इषं॑ च नो॒ दध॑ती विश्ववारे॒ गोम॒दश्वा॑व॒द्रथ॑वच्च॒ राधः॑
asme śreṣṭhebhirbhānubhirvi bhāhyuṣo devi pratirantī na āyuḥ iṣaṃ ca no dadhatī viśvavāre gomadaśvāvadrathavacca rādhaḥ
Among our excellent shining ones, O goddess, their fame does not age. She grants this to us: cattle, kine, chariots and steeds, the rich possessions and the host of heroes.

यां त्वा॑ दिवो दुहितर्व॒र्धय॒न्त्युषः॑ सुजाते म॒तिभि॒र्वसि॑ष्ठाः । सास्मासु॑ धा र॒यिमृ॒ष्वं बृ॒हन्तं॑ यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः
yāṃ tvā divo duhitarvardhayantyuṣaḥ sujāte matibhirvasiṣṭhāḥ sāsmāsu dhā rayimṛṣvaṃ bṛhantaṃ yūyaṃ pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ
May that daughter of heaven who increases you by nights, renowned and well-born, uphold you with thoughts of Vasistha. Give us great, sustaining wealth; may you protect us always with auspiciousness.
