उ॒ग्रो ज॑ज्ञे वी॒र्या॑य स्व॒धावा॒ञ्चक्रि॒रपो॒ नर्यो॒ यत्क॑रि॒ष्यन् । जग्मि॒र्युवा॑ नृ॒षद॑न॒मवो॑भिस्त्रा॒ता न॒ इन्द्र॒ एन॑सो म॒हश्चि॑त्
ugro jajñe vīryāya svadhāvāñcakrirapo naryo yatkariṣyan jagmiryuvā nṛṣadanamavobhistrātā na indra enaso mahaścit
He resplendent, invoked for heroism and libations, the warrior men set in motion what they would do. Young men went forth, the protectors, not Indra of breath only but great in might.

हन्ता॑ वृ॒त्रमिन्द्रः॒ शूशु॑वानः॒ प्रावी॒न्नु वी॒रो ज॑रि॒तार॑मू॒ती । कर्ता॑ सु॒दासे॒ अह॒ वा उ॑ लो॒कं दाता॒ वसु॒ मुहु॒रा दा॒शुषे॑ भूत्
hantā vṛtramindraḥ śūśuvānaḥ prāvīnnu vīro jaritāramūtī kartā sudāse aha vā u lokaṃ dātā vasu muhurā dāśuṣe bhūt
Indra the slayer of Vritra, the conqueror, marched victorious, the liberator of the generous; he, giver of worlds, repeatedly gave wealth to the Dāśuṣa.

यु॒ध्मो अ॑न॒र्वा ख॑ज॒कृत्स॒मद्वा॒ शूरः॑ सत्रा॒षाड्ज॒नुषे॒मषा॑ळ्हः । व्या॑स॒ इन्द्रः॒ पृत॑नाः॒ स्वोजा॒ अधा॒ विश्वं॑ शत्रू॒यन्तं॑ जघान
yudhmo anarvā khajakṛtsamadvā śūraḥ satrāṣāḍjanuṣemaṣāḷhaḥ vyāsa indraḥ pṛtanāḥ svojā adhā viśvaṃ śatrūyantaṃ jaghāna
He of unbroken might fought, the heroic, with sharp spear and battle-club; Indra drove forth foes and crushed the opposing hosts that threatened the world.

उ॒भे चि॑दिन्द्र॒ रोद॑सी महि॒त्वा प॑प्राथ॒ तवि॑षीभिस्तुविष्मः । नि वज्र॒मिन्द्रो॒ हरि॑वा॒न्मिमि॑क्ष॒न्समन्ध॑सा॒ मदे॑षु॒ वा उ॑वोच
ubhe cidindra rodasī mahitvā paprātha taviṣībhistuviṣmaḥ ni vajramindro harivānmimikṣansamandhasā madeṣu vā uvoca
Both, Indra and the tearful one, with greatness reached out against poisons and the strong ones; Indra, bearing the thunderbolt, looked upon them, and spoke among the intoxications and boasts.

वृषा॑ जजान॒ वृष॑णं॒ रणा॑य॒ तमु॑ चि॒न्नारी॒ नर्यं॑ ससूव । प्र यः से॑ना॒नीरध॒ नृभ्यो॒ अस्ती॒नः सत्वा॑ ग॒वेष॑णः॒ स धृ॒ष्णुः
vṛṣā jajāna vṛṣaṇaṃ raṇāya tamu cinnārī naryaṃ sasūva pra yaḥ senānīradha nṛbhyo astīnaḥ satvā gaveṣaṇaḥ sa dhṛṣṇuḥ
He begot bulls, the bull for battle; he cut the darkness; the man fell with arrows. He who measures armies and men, the steersman searching herds — he is the bold one.

नू चि॒त्स भ्रे॑षते॒ जनो॒ न रे॑ष॒न्मनो॒ यो अ॑स्य घो॒रमा॒विवा॑सात् । य॒ज्ञैर्य इन्द्रे॒ दध॑ते॒ दुवां॑सि॒ क्षय॒त्स रा॒य ऋ॑त॒पा ऋ॑ते॒जाः
nū citsa bhreṣate jano na reṣanmano yo asya ghoramāvivāsāt yajñairya indre dadhate duvāṃsi kṣayatsa rāya ṛtapā ṛtejāḥ
Surely the folk rejoices not who are without mind; he whom dreadful might has made to totter — by sacrifices Indra sets forth the twofold streams, destroys decay, the king by right and splendor.

यदि॑न्द्र॒ पूर्वो॒ अप॑राय॒ शिक्ष॒न्नय॒ज्ज्याया॒न्कनी॑यसो दे॒ष्णम् । अ॒मृत॒ इत्पर्या॑सीत दू॒रमा चि॑त्र॒ चित्र्यं॑ भरा र॒यिं नः॑
yadindra pūrvo aparāya śikṣannayajjyāyānkanīyaso deṣṇam amṛta itparyāsīta dūramā citra citryaṃ bharā rayiṃ naḥ
If Indra taught the earlier and the later, establishing increase by instruction, the immortal increased far and wondrously; fill for us the wealth of cattle.

यस्त॑ इन्द्र प्रि॒यो जनो॒ ददा॑श॒दस॑न्निरे॒के अ॑द्रिवः॒ सखा॑ ते । व॒यं ते॑ अ॒स्यां सु॑म॒तौ चनि॑ष्ठाः॒ स्याम॒ वरू॑थे॒ अघ्न॑तो॒ नृपी॑तौ
yasta indra priyo jano dadāśadasannireke adrivaḥ sakhā te vayaṃ te asyāṃ sumatau caniṣṭhāḥ syāma varūthe aghnato nṛpītau
He who gave you, Indra, a beloved people, like mountains a single friend — may we, in this good thought, be steadfast with you; may we be chosen, not slain, by the king.

ए॒ष स्तोमो॑ अचिक्रद॒द्वृषा॑ त उ॒त स्ता॒मुर्म॑घवन्नक्रपिष्ट । रा॒यस्कामो॑ जरि॒तारं॑ त॒ आग॒न्त्वम॒ङ्ग श॑क्र॒ वस्व॒ आ श॑को नः
eṣa stomo acikradadvṛṣā ta uta stāmurmaghavannakrapiṣṭa rāyaskāmo jaritāraṃ ta āgantvamaṅga śakra vasva ā śako naḥ
This hymn the bulls (the mighty) proclaimed; so the brave one poured the Soma, unclogged. May the desirer of empire, the famed elder, come, O Indra, grant us strength and prosperity.

स न॑ इन्द्र॒ त्वय॑ताया इ॒षे धा॒स्त्मना॑ च॒ ये म॒घवा॑नो जु॒नन्ति॑ । वस्वी॒ षु ते॑ जरि॒त्रे अ॑स्तु श॒क्तिर्यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः
sa na indra tvayatāyā iṣe dhāstmanā ca ye maghavāno junanti vasvī ṣu te jaritre astu śaktiryūyaṃ pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ
O Indra, may those who delight in generous gifts desire you and your mind; may the power be in your adorers, may you protect us with blessings always.
