कदु॑ प्रि॒याय॒ धाम्ने॑ मनामहे॒ स्वक्ष॑त्राय॒ स्वय॑शसे म॒हे व॒यम् । आ॒मे॒न्यस्य॒ रज॑सो॒ यद॒भ्र आँ अ॒पो वृ॑णा॒ना वि॑त॒नोति॑ मा॒यिनी॑
kadu priyāya dhāmne manāmahe svakṣatrāya svayaśase mahe vayam āmenyasya rajaso yadabhra ām̐ apo vṛṇānā vitanoti māyinī
When shall we delight the beloved home, the mind for the protector of his own realm, O mighty ones? The waters which remove his dust — the bringer spreads the splendor of his rays.

ता अ॑त्नत व॒युनं॑ वी॒रव॑क्षणं समा॒न्या वृ॒तया॒ विश्व॒मा रजः॑ । अपो॒ अपा॑ची॒रप॑रा॒ अपे॑जते॒ प्र पूर्वा॑भिस्तिरते देव॒युर्जनः॑
tā atnata vayunaṃ vīravakṣaṇaṃ samānyā vṛtayā viśvamā rajaḥ apo apācīraparā apejate pra pūrvābhistirate devayurjanaḥ
They have upheld the wide atmosphere, heroic-seeing, equal in ordinance; the law all-encompassing is Rajas. Waters, spending forth and back, progress; earlier they crossed over even the gods' ancient paths.

आ ग्राव॑भिरह॒न्ये॑भिर॒क्तुभि॒र्वरि॑ष्ठं॒ वज्र॒मा जि॑घर्ति मा॒यिनि॑ । श॒तं वा॒ यस्य॑ प्र॒चर॒न्स्वे दमे॑ संव॒र्तय॑न्तो॒ वि च॑ वर्तय॒न्नहा॑
ā grāvabhirahanyebhiraktubhirvariṣṭhaṃ vajramā jigharti māyini śataṃ vā yasya pracaransve dame saṃvartayanto vi ca vartayannahā
The stealer desires the mighty one, the wielder of the thunderbolt, with hostile snares and crooked deeds. A hundred, whether he scatters them in tumult or restrains them, the magician covets the foremost.

ताम॑स्य री॒तिं प॑र॒शोरि॑व॒ प्रत्यनी॑कमख्यं भु॒जे अ॑स्य॒ वर्प॑सः । सचा॒ यदि॑ पितु॒मन्त॑मिव॒ क्षयं॒ रत्नं॒ दधा॑ति॒ भर॑हूतये वि॒शे
tāmasya rītiṃ paraśoriva pratyanīkamakhyaṃ bhuje asya varpasaḥ sacā yadi pitumantamiva kṣayaṃ ratnaṃ dadhāti bharahūtaye viśe
His method is like the edge of a blade, hostile and swift; the harness of this man is of strength. If, like one who honors a father, he places a jewel for the abundant wealth, the lordly one grants it.

स जि॒ह्वया॒ चतु॑रनीक ऋञ्जते॒ चारु॒ वसा॑नो॒ वरु॑णो॒ यत॑न्न॒रिम् । न तस्य॑ विद्म पुरुष॒त्वता॑ व॒यं यतो॒ भगः॑ सवि॒ता दाति॒ वार्य॑म्
sa jihvayā caturanīka ṛñjate cāru vasāno varuṇo yatannarim na tasya vidma puruṣatvatā vayaṃ yato bhagaḥ savitā dāti vāryam
With the tongue he skillfully plucks fourfold wealth; Varuṇa's fair raiment is what harms the foe. We know not his manhood; from whom the divine Savitṛ gives the gift of praise.
