क उ॑ श्रवत्कत॒मो य॒ज्ञिया॑नां व॒न्दारु॑ दे॒वः क॑त॒मो जु॑षाते । कस्ये॒मां दे॒वीम॒मृते॑षु॒ प्रेष्ठां॑ हृ॒दि श्रे॑षाम सुष्टु॒तिं सु॑ह॒व्याम्
ka u śravatkatamo yajñiyānāṃ vandāru devaḥ katamo juṣāte kasyemāṃ devīmamṛteṣu preṣṭhāṃ hṛdi śreṣāma suṣṭutiṃ suhavyām
Who indeed, hearers, is the most worshipful among ritualists? Which god is most worthy of praise and who offers the best prayer in the hearts of the immortals with noble oblation?

को मृ॑ळाति कत॒म आग॑मिष्ठो दे॒वाना॑मु कत॒मः शम्भ॑विष्ठः । रथं॒ कमा॑हुर्द्र॒वद॑श्वमा॒शुं यं सूर्य॑स्य दुहि॒तावृ॑णीत
ko mṛḷāti katama āgamiṣṭho devānāmu katamaḥ śambhaviṣṭhaḥ rathaṃ kamāhurdravadaśvamāśuṃ yaṃ sūryasya duhitāvṛṇīta
Who comes forth from the dust, who is the desired invoker of the gods, who is the planter of prosperous growth? Who yoked the chariot like a wild steed and chose the milk of the sun’s daughter?

म॒क्षू हि ष्मा॒ गच्छ॑थ॒ ईव॑तो॒ द्यूनिन्द्रो॒ न श॒क्तिं परि॑तक्म्यायाम् । दि॒व आजा॑ता दि॒व्या सु॑प॒र्णा कया॒ शची॑नां भवथः॒ शचि॑ष्ठा
makṣū hi ṣmā gacchatha īvato dyūnindro na śaktiṃ paritakmyāyām diva ājātā divyā suparṇā kayā śacīnāṃ bhavathaḥ śaciṣṭhā
Flies indeed go where they will; Indra cannot withstand the might of the storm; born of the sky, the divine bird, with what glory did you become foremost among the hosts of Śachi?

का वां॑ भू॒दुप॑मातिः॒ कया॑ न॒ आश्वि॑ना गमथो हू॒यमा॑ना । को वां॑ म॒हश्चि॒त्त्यज॑सो अ॒भीक॑ उरु॒ष्यतं॑ माध्वी दस्रा न ऊ॒ती
kā vāṃ bhūdupamātiḥ kayā na āśvinā gamatho hūyamānā ko vāṃ mahaścittyajaso abhīka uruṣyataṃ mādhvī dasrā na ūtī
Who, like the waters, was your equal; by what manner did the Ashvinis come, invoked and sung? Who of great mind and mighty fame cast off fear — long-lasting, never to be overcome?

उ॒रु वां॒ रथः॒ परि॑ नक्षति॒ द्यामा यत्स॑मु॒द्राद॒भि वर्त॑ते वाम् । मध्वा॑ माध्वी॒ मधु॑ वां प्रुषाय॒न्यत्सीं॑ वां॒ पृक्षो॑ भु॒रज॑न्त प॒क्वाः
uru vāṃ rathaḥ pari nakṣati dyāmā yatsamudrādabhi vartate vām madhvā mādhvī madhu vāṃ pruṣāyanyatsīṃ vāṃ pṛkṣo bhurajanta pakvāḥ
Broad is your chariot rolling around the sky and the earth, moving from the sea; sweet, O noble ones, your sweetness draws you forth; the strong-bodied seek you, rich and ripe in prowess.

सिन्धु॑र्ह वां र॒सया॑ सिञ्च॒दश्वा॑न्घृ॒णा वयो॑ऽरु॒षासः॒ परि॑ ग्मन् । तदू॒ षु वा॑मजि॒रं चे॑ति॒ यानं॒ येन॒ पती॒ भव॑थः सू॒र्यायाः॑
sindhurha vāṃ rasayā siñcadaśvānghṛṇā vayo'ruṣāsaḥ pari gman tadū ṣu vāmajiraṃ ceti yānaṃ yena patī bhavathaḥ sūryāyāḥ
May the Sindhu sprinkle you with juices, horses with fragrant ghee; the breezes go about; thus, O bearers, with what vehicle were you masters, O charioteers of the sun?

इ॒हेह॒ यद्वां॑ सम॒ना प॑पृ॒क्षे सेयम॒स्मे सु॑म॒तिर्वा॑जरत्ना । उ॒रु॒ष्यतं॑ जरि॒तारं॑ यु॒वं ह॑ श्रि॒तः कामो॑ नासत्या युव॒द्रिक्
iheha yadvāṃ samanā papṛkṣe seyamasme sumatirvājaratnā uruṣyataṃ jaritāraṃ yuvaṃ ha śritaḥ kāmo nāsatyā yuvadrik
Here, what like ones you asked for we sought: grant us good mind and thunder-jewels. Let the vigorous one become enduring, you young man, endowed with glory — the desire not to fail, O youthful leader.
