स॒मि॒ध्यमा॑नः प्रथ॒मानु॒ धर्मा॒ सम॒क्तुभि॑रज्यते वि॒श्ववा॑रः । शो॒चिष्के॑शो घृ॒तनि॑र्णिक्पाव॒कः सु॑य॒ज्ञो अ॒ग्निर्य॒जथा॑य दे॒वान्
samidhyamānaḥ prathamānu dharmā samaktubhirajyate viśvavāraḥ śociṣkeśo ghṛtanirṇikpāvakaḥ suyajño agniryajathāya devān
Performing rites straight, first in duty, the law is established by united ones, the wide-spreading. The wax-bearing Agni, knower of sacrifice, the purifier who cooks the butter, the best sacrificer, he is worshipped for the gods.

यथाय॑जो हो॒त्रम॑ग्ने पृथि॒व्या यथा॑ दि॒वो जा॑तवेदश्चिकि॒त्वान् । ए॒वानेन॑ ह॒विषा॑ यक्षि दे॒वान्म॑नु॒ष्वद्य॒ज्ञं प्र ति॑रे॒मम॒द्य
yathāyajo hotramagne pṛthivyā yathā divo jātavedaścikitvān evānena haviṣā yakṣi devānmanuṣvadyajñaṃ pra tiremamadya
As the sacrificer makes the invocation, Agni as in earth and sky the knower of births is invoked. Thus with this offering may I call the gods to the rite this day.

त्रीण्यायूं॑षि॒ तव॑ जातवेदस्ति॒स्र आ॒जानी॑रु॒षस॑स्ते अग्ने । ताभि॑र्दे॒वाना॒मवो॑ यक्षि वि॒द्वानथा॑ भव॒ यज॑मानाय॒ शं योः
trīṇyāyūṃṣi tava jātavedastisra ājānīruṣasaste agne tābhirdevānāmavo yakṣi vidvānathā bhava yajamānāya śaṃ yoḥ
In your three life-breaths the knower of births was born, threefold you rose up, O Agni. By these protect the gods’ processes; be wise and uphold the worshipper with winning favour.

अ॒ग्निं सु॑दी॒तिं सु॒दृशं॑ गृ॒णन्तो॑ नम॒स्याम॒स्त्वेड्यं॑ जातवेदः । त्वां दू॒तम॑र॒तिं ह॑व्य॒वाहं॑ दे॒वा अ॑कृण्वन्न॒मृत॑स्य॒ नाभि॑म्
agniṃ sudītiṃ sudṛśaṃ gṛṇanto namasyāmastveḍyaṃ jātavedaḥ tvāṃ dūtamaratiṃ havyavāhaṃ devā akṛṇvannamṛtasya nābhim
Praising Agni, the knower of births, we honour the shining, well-formed God; I send thee as the messenger to the immortal realm, bearer of the oblation, to the navel of immortality.

यस्त्वद्धोता॒ पूर्वो॑ अग्ने॒ यजी॑यान्द्वि॒ता च॒ सत्ता॑ स्व॒धया॑ च श॒म्भुः । तस्यानु॒ धर्म॒ प्र य॑जा चिकि॒त्वोऽथ॑ नो धा अध्व॒रं दे॒ववी॑तौ
yastvaddhotā pūrvo agne yajīyāndvitā ca sattā svadhayā ca śambhuḥ tasyānu dharma pra yajā cikitvo'tha no dhā adhvaraṃ devavītau
He who of old invoked Agni, sacrificing with sovereign rites and with offering and oblation, the holy one: let his law attend the sacrificer; may he lead us to the right path in the gods’ protection.
