स॒मि॒ध्यमा॑नः प्रथ॒मानु॒ धर्मा॒ सम॒क्तुभि॑रज्यते वि॒श्ववा॑रः । शो॒चिष्के॑शो घृ॒तनि॑र्णिक्पाव॒कः सु॑य॒ज्ञो अ॒ग्निर्य॒जथा॑य दे॒वान्
samidhyamānaḥ prathamānu dharmā samaktubhirajyate viśvavāraḥ śociṣkeśo ghṛtanirṇikpāvakaḥ suyajño agniryajathāya devān
Performing rites straight, first in duty, the law is established by united ones, the wide-spreading. The wax-bearing Agni, knower of sacrifice, the purifier who cooks the butter, the best sacrificer, he is worshipped for the gods.
The righteous (Agni) when first kindled on the several (altars) the object of adoration by all, whose hair is flame, and who is cleansed with butter, the purifier, the worthy-worshipped, is sprinkled with oblations for the worship of the gods.
DULY enkindled after ancient customs, bringing all treasures, he is balmed with unguents,- Flame-haired, oil-clad, the purifying Agni, skilled in fair rites, to bring the Gods for worship.
