यथाय॑जो हो॒त्रम॑ग्ने पृथि॒व्या यथा॑ दि॒वो जा॑तवेदश्चिकि॒त्वान् । ए॒वानेन॑ ह॒विषा॑ यक्षि दे॒वान्म॑नु॒ष्वद्य॒ज्ञं प्र ति॑रे॒मम॒द्य
yathāyajo hotramagne pṛthivyā yathā divo jātavedaścikitvān evānena haviṣā yakṣi devānmanuṣvadyajñaṃ pra tiremamadya
As the sacrificer makes the invocation, Agni as in earth and sky the knower of births is invoked. Thus with this offering may I call the gods to the rite this day.
As you did offer the burnt-offering, Agni, (on behalf of) earth; as you, Jātavedas, who are cognizant (of sacred rites, did offer sacrifice on behalf) of heaven; so with this oblation worship the gods, and perfect this rite today (as you did) that of Manu.
As thou, O Agni, skilful Jatavedas, hast sacrificed as Priest of Earth, of Heaven, So with this offering bring the Gods, and prosper this sacrifice today as erst for Manu.
