यस्त्वद्धोता॒ पूर्वो॑ अग्ने॒ यजी॑यान्द्वि॒ता च॒ सत्ता॑ स्व॒धया॑ च श॒म्भुः । तस्यानु॒ धर्म॒ प्र य॑जा चिकि॒त्वोऽथ॑ नो धा अध्व॒रं दे॒ववी॑तौ
yastvaddhotā pūrvo agne yajīyāndvitā ca sattā svadhayā ca śambhuḥ tasyānu dharma pra yajā cikitvo'tha no dhā adhvaraṃ devavītau
He who of old invoked Agni, sacrificing with sovereign rites and with offering and oblation, the holy one: let his law attend the sacrificer; may he lead us to the right path in the gods’ protection.
He is the most diligent offerer of worship who is the presenter of oblations before you are and who in two plural ces (the middling and the best) seated with the sacrificial food is (the source of) happiness (to the worshippers); do you cognizant (of the objects of devotion), officiate in accordance with his piety, and thus render our rite acceptable to the gods.
That Priest before thee, yet more skilled in worship, stablished of old, healthgiver by his nature,- After his custom offer, thou who knowest, and lay our sacrifice where Gods may taste it.
