मनी॑षिणः॒ प्र भ॑रध्वं मनी॒षां यथा॑यथा म॒तयः॒ सन्ति॑ नृ॒णाम् । इन्द्रं॑ स॒त्यैरेर॑यामा कृ॒तेभिः॒ स हि वी॒रो गि॑र्वण॒स्युर्विदा॑नः
manīṣiṇaḥ pra bharadhvaṃ manīṣāṃ yathāyathā matayaḥ santi nṛṇām indraṃ satyairerayāmā kṛtebhiḥ sa hi vīro girvaṇasyurvidānaḥ
Thinkers, bear forth your thoughts as the minds of men exist. Indra, truthful, famed among the made works, is the brave one famed in the hymn of heroes.

ऋ॒तस्य॒ हि सद॑सो धी॒तिरद्यौ॒त्सं गा॑र्ष्टे॒यो वृ॑ष॒भो गोभि॑रानट् । उद॑तिष्ठत्तवि॒षेणा॒ रवे॑ण म॒हान्ति॑ चि॒त्सं वि॑व्याचा॒ रजां॑सि
ṛtasya hi sadaso dhītiradyautsaṃ gārṣṭeyo vṛṣabho gobhirānaṭ udatiṣṭhattaviṣeṇā raveṇa mahānti citsaṃ vivyācā rajāṃsi
Today is the mind of order; the bull, famed, roars with abundant cows. Rise with the protective potion and with radiance, mighty ones, diffuse the light and scatter the darkness.

इन्द्रः॒ किल॒ श्रुत्या॑ अ॒स्य वे॑द॒ स हि जि॒ष्णुः प॑थि॒कृत्सूर्या॑य । आन्मेनां॑ कृ॒ण्वन्नच्यु॑तो॒ भुव॒द्गोः पति॑र्दि॒वः स॑न॒जा अप्र॑तीतः
indraḥ kila śrutyā asya veda sa hi jiṣṇuḥ pathikṛtsūryāya ānmenāṃ kṛṇvannacyuto bhuvadgoḥ patirdivaḥ sanajā apratītaḥ
Indra indeed knows by hearing this hymn; he is victorious, the path-maker like the sun. Making these steadfast, unmoved, he became lord of cattle and the sky, renowned without equal.

इन्द्रो॑ म॒ह्ना म॑ह॒तो अ॑र्ण॒वस्य॑ व्र॒तामि॑ना॒दङ्गि॑रोभिर्गृणा॒नः । पु॒रूणि॑ चि॒न्नि त॑ताना॒ रजां॑सि दा॒धार॒ यो ध॒रुणं॑ स॒त्यता॑ता
indro mahnā mahato arṇavasya vratāminādaṅgirobhirgṛṇānaḥ purūṇi cinni tatānā rajāṃsi dādhāra yo dharuṇaṃ satyatātā
Indra, with the greatness of the vast ocean, by his ordinances and mighty mountains he smote and cut apart the fetters, and he upheld the sustaining truth like a firm support.

इन्द्रो॑ दि॒वः प्र॑ति॒मानं॑ पृथि॒व्या विश्वा॑ वेद॒ सव॑ना॒ हन्ति॒ शुष्ण॑म् । म॒हीं चि॒द्द्यामात॑नो॒त्सूर्ये॑ण चा॒स्कम्भ॑ चि॒त्कम्भ॑नेन॒ स्कभी॑यान्
indro divaḥ pratimānaṃ pṛthivyā viśvā veda savanā hanti śuṣṇam mahīṃ ciddyāmātanotsūryeṇa cāskambha citkambhanena skabhīyān
Indra, reflecting the sky against the earth, knows all the realms and strikes the dryness. He pierced the mountain with the sun and shook with mighty force the trembling ones.

वज्रे॑ण॒ हि वृ॑त्र॒हा वृ॒त्रमस्त॒रदे॑वस्य॒ शूशु॑वानस्य मा॒याः । वि धृ॑ष्णो॒ अत्र॑ धृष॒ता ज॑घ॒न्थाथा॑भवो मघवन्बा॒ह्वो॑जाः
vajreṇa hi vṛtrahā vṛtramastaradevasya śūśuvānasya māyāḥ vi dhṛṣṇo atra dhṛṣatā jaghanthāthābhavo maghavanbāhvojāḥ
With the thunderbolt the slayer of Vṛtra struck Vṛtra, the potent one of the gods, the mighty one of magic. With resolute force they were slain; riches and vigor arose in his arms.

सच॑न्त॒ यदु॒षसः॒ सूर्ये॑ण चि॒त्राम॑स्य के॒तवो॒ राम॑विन्दन् । आ यन्नक्ष॑त्रं॒ ददृ॑शे दि॒वो न पुन॑र्य॒तो नकि॑र॒द्धा नु वे॑द
sacanta yaduṣasaḥ sūryeṇa citrāmasya ketavo rāmavindan ā yannakṣatraṃ dadṛśe divo na punaryato nakiraddhā nu veda
They fought like hostile forces in the bright sun; the banners of the radiant fought in splendour. Whatever star of the sky the eye beheld, it will not be seen again—no one knows how it is repelled.

दू॒रं किल॑ प्रथ॒मा ज॑ग्मुरासा॒मिन्द्र॑स्य॒ याः प्र॑स॒वे स॒स्रुरापः॑ । क्व॑ स्वि॒दग्रं॒ क्व॑ बु॒ध्न आ॑सा॒मापो॒ मध्यं॒ क्व॑ वो नू॒नमन्तः॑
dūraṃ kila prathamā jagmurāsāmindrasya yāḥ prasave sasrurāpaḥ kva svidagraṃ kva budhna āsāmāpo madhyaṃ kva vo nūnamantaḥ
Far indeed first they traversed the realms of Indra—the waters that flowed forth. Where was the head, where did the waters find the midst? Truly you are within (them).

सृ॒जः सिन्धू॒ँरहि॑ना जग्रसा॒नाँ आदिदे॒ताः प्र वि॑विज्रे ज॒वेन॑ । मुमु॑क्षमाणा उ॒त या मु॑मु॒च्रेऽधेदे॒ता न र॑मन्ते॒ निति॑क्ताः
sṛjaḥ sindhūm̐rahinā jagrasānām̐ ādidetāḥ pra vivijre javena mumukṣamāṇā uta yā mumucre'dhedetā na ramante nitiktāḥ
Creators spread the bright streams; the primal givers pierced forth by blazing might. Yearning for release, those freed by them do not delight; they are called not to joy.

स॒ध्रीचीः॒ सिन्धु॑मुश॒तीरि॑वायन्स॒नाज्जा॒र आ॑रि॒तः पू॒र्भिदा॑साम् । अस्त॒मा ते॒ पार्थि॑वा॒ वसू॑न्य॒स्मे ज॑ग्मुः सू॒नृता॑ इन्द्र पू॒र्वीः
sadhrīcīḥ sindhumuśatīrivāyansanājjāra āritaḥ pūrbhidāsām astamā te pārthivā vasūnyasme jagmuḥ sūnṛtā indra pūrvīḥ
Sadhriči (the bright one) like a shore of the Sindhu came forth, the ancient lord of heroes, protector of the earlier people. After them the earthly dwellers won riches; Indra’s former sons marched on like the youthful-born.
