उद्बु॑ध्यध्वं॒ सम॑नसः सखायः॒ सम॒ग्निमि॑न्ध्वं ब॒हवः॒ सनी॑ळाः । द॒धि॒क्राम॒ग्निमु॒षसं॑ च दे॒वीमिन्द्रा॑व॒तोऽव॑से॒ नि ह्व॑ये वः
udbudhyadhvaṃ samanasaḥ sakhāyaḥ samagnimindhvaṃ bahavaḥ sanīḷāḥ dadhikrāmagnimuṣasaṃ ca devīmindrāvato'vase ni hvaye vaḥ
Arise, companions of the ritual-minded; kindle the sacred fire together, many and strong. Let the goddess Indrāvāta, breathing forth, step forth and we invoke you.

म॒न्द्रा कृ॑णुध्वं॒ धिय॒ आ त॑नुध्वं॒ नाव॑मरित्र॒पर॑णीं कृणुध्वम् । इष्कृ॑णुध्व॒मायु॒धारं॑ कृणुध्वं॒ प्राञ्चं॑ य॒ज्ञं प्र ण॑यता सखायः
mandrā kṛṇudhvaṃ dhiya ā tanudhvaṃ nāvamaritraparaṇīṃ kṛṇudhvam iṣkṛṇudhvamāyudhāraṃ kṛṇudhvaṃ prāñcaṃ yajñaṃ pra ṇayatā sakhāyaḥ
Make gentle the thoughts, set forth the intellect; stretch out the bow, make the vessel free from poison. Create the weapon of strength, establish the eastern sacrifice, O companions, invoking it.

यु॒नक्त॒ सीरा॒ वि यु॒गा त॑नुध्वं कृ॒ते योनौ॑ वपते॒ह बीज॑म् । गि॒रा च॑ श्रु॒ष्टिः सभ॑रा॒ अस॑न्नो॒ नेदी॑य॒ इत्सृ॒ण्यः॑ प॒क्वमेया॑त्
yunakta sīrā vi yugā tanudhvaṃ kṛte yonau vapateha bījam girā ca śruṣṭiḥ sabharā asanno nedīya itsṛṇyaḥ pakvameyāt
Unite the seed-bearing channels as couples; stretch forth the joined wombs — here the germ of procreation. Speech and heard utterance, full assembly, are present; bring forth ripeness by these ordinances.

सीरा॑ युञ्जन्ति क॒वयो॑ यु॒गा वि त॑न्वते॒ पृथ॑क् । धीरा॑ दे॒वेषु॑ सुम्न॒या
sīrā yuñjanti kavayo yugā vi tanvate pṛthak dhīrā deveṣu sumnayā
Poets join the channels when the couples are strengthened apart. Wise ones, with auspiciousness among the gods.

निरा॑हा॒वान्कृ॑णोतन॒ सं व॑र॒त्रा द॑धातन । सि॒ञ्चाम॑हा अव॒तमु॒द्रिणं॑ व॒यं सु॒षेक॒मनु॑पक्षितम्
nirāhāvānkṛṇotana saṃ varatrā dadhātana siñcāmahā avatamudriṇaṃ vayaṃ suṣekamanupakṣitam
They made an offering without voice and placed the excellent sheath. We anointed the seal, bearing the sign, keeping it properly fitted.

इष्कृ॑ताहावमव॒तं सु॑वर॒त्रं सु॑षेच॒नम् । उ॒द्रिणं॑ सिञ्चे॒ अक्षि॑तम्
iṣkṛtāhāvamavataṃ suvaratraṃ suṣecanam udriṇaṃ siñce akṣitam
They poured forth the invoked call, the good sheath, the nice array. They anointed the seal, they poured out the unbroken (measure).

प्री॒णी॒ताश्वा॑न्हि॒तं ज॑याथ स्वस्ति॒वाहं॒ रथ॒मित्कृ॑णुध्वम् । द्रोणा॑हावमव॒तमश्म॑चक्र॒मंस॑त्रकोशं सिञ्चता नृ॒पाण॑म्
prīṇītāśvānhitaṃ jayātha svastivāhaṃ rathamitkṛṇudhvam droṇāhāvamavatamaśmacakramaṃsatrakośaṃ siñcatā nṛpāṇam
Make beloved horses run well; grant victory and auspiciousness; perform the chariot work. They made an offering into the quiver and anointed the wheel; sprinkle the spear, O kings.

व्र॒जं कृ॑णुध्वं॒ स हि वो॑ नृ॒पाणो॒ वर्म॑ सीव्यध्वं बहु॒ला पृ॒थूनि॑ । पुरः॑ कृणुध्व॒माय॑सी॒रधृ॑ष्टा॒ मा वः॑ सुस्रोच्चम॒सो दृंह॑ता॒ तम्
vrajaṃ kṛṇudhvaṃ sa hi vo nṛpāṇo varma sīvyadhvaṃ bahulā pṛthūni puraḥ kṛṇudhvamāyasīradhṛṣṭā mā vaḥ susroccamaso dṛṃhatā tam
Drive forth the herd; for indeed your kings are armor-bearers; clothe them, abundant in broad lands. Make ready the fort in front, O possessors of the spear; may the well-resounding day not fail you, hold that up.

आ वो॒ धियं॑ य॒ज्ञियां॑ वर्त ऊ॒तये॒ देवा॑ दे॒वीं य॑ज॒तां य॒ज्ञिया॑मि॒ह । सा नो॑ दुहीय॒द्यव॑सेव ग॒त्वी स॒हस्र॑धारा॒ पय॑सा म॒ही गौः
ā vo dhiyaṃ yajñiyāṃ varta ūtaye devā devīṃ yajatāṃ yajñiyāmiha sā no duhīyadyavaseva gatvī sahasradhārā payasā mahī gauḥ
May the gods keep for you the ritual and the sacred offering of the mind; the goddess worshipped, I perform the rite. May she milk for us the cows with thousand streams, bringing earth's abundant milk.

आ तू षि॑ञ्च॒ हरि॑मीं॒ द्रोरु॒पस्थे॒ वाशी॑भिस्तक्षताश्म॒न्मयी॑भिः । परि॑ ष्वजध्वं॒ दश॑ क॒क्ष्या॑भिरु॒भे धुरौ॒ प्रति॒ वह्निं॑ युनक्त
ā tū ṣiñca harimīṃ drorupasthe vāśībhistakṣatāśmanmayībhiḥ pari ṣvajadhvaṃ daśa kakṣyābhirubhe dhurau prati vahniṃ yunakta
They sprinkled the sacrifice, placed the oblations on the stone, by the handlers with ritual shafts. Encircle it ten times with stakes and drag the fire to the two chariot-thronged sides.

उ॒भे धुरौ॒ वह्नि॑रा॒पिब्द॑मानो॒ऽन्तर्योने॑व चरति द्वि॒जानिः॑ । वन॒स्पतिं॒ वन॒ आस्था॑पयध्वं॒ नि षू द॑धिध्व॒मख॑नन्त॒ उत्स॑म्
ubhe dhurau vahnirāpibdamāno'ntaryoneva carati dvijāniḥ vanaspatiṃ vana āsthāpayadhvaṃ ni ṣū dadhidhvamakhananta utsam
On both sides the fire, swelling and roaring, moves in the belly like two-limbed ones. Establish the forest-lord, plant the forest; distribute and give milk, breaking forth the offerings.

कपृ॑न्नरः कपृ॒थमुद्द॑धातन चो॒दय॑त खु॒दत॒ वाज॑सातये । नि॒ष्टि॒ग्र्यः॑ पु॒त्रमा च्या॑वयो॒तय॒ इन्द्रं॑ स॒बाध॑ इ॒ह सोम॑पीतये
kapṛnnaraḥ kapṛthamuddadhātana codayata khudata vājasātaye niṣṭigryaḥ putramā cyāvayotaya indraṃ sabādha iha somapītaye
The needy man raised the oxen and urged them on, inciting by the strength of the oblation. The vigorous bulls and the offspring-yielding ones invoked Indra for Soma to be drunk here.
