May the Maruts, exulting, come with shining chariots, with splendid steeds and winged horses. May this strongest of rains not fail to reach us; may it not be withheld from our wealth of good influence.

They come adorned with ruddy beams and lovely ornaments, yoked to chariots with horses. Their gleam is splendid, varied as a goddess; around the chariot’s axle the earth resounds.

May welfare be upon you who possess strength in your bodies, possessors of skill, ascending the woods. To you the Marut bestowers of birth, bright as lightning, bring the mountainous wealth.

The eagles of the day have carried forth the earlier thought and the radiant goddess of intellect. The Brahmans perform rites; the Gotamas with shafts raise the Sun upward to the expanse; drink ye the remedy.

etattyanna yojanamaceti sasvarha yanmaruto gotamo vaḥ paśyanhiraṇyacakrānayodaṃṣṭrānvidhāvato varāhūn
This is that food measured by the yojana which the Marut Gotama grants you. Behold the golden-wheeled boars who cleave with their tusks, rushing in their course.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 1, Sukta 88 · Verse 1.88.6
eṣā syā vo maruto'nubhartrī prati ṣṭobhati vāghato na vāṇī astobhayadvṛthāsāmanu svadhāṃ gabhastyoḥ
This Marut is your supporter; he utters praise but not vain speech. Both the east and the west in vain are not to be likened; the pair share the oblation in the sacred pit of the two.
