ती॒व्राः सोमा॑स॒ आ ग॑ह्या॒शीर्व॑न्तः सु॒ता इ॒मे । वायो॒ तान्प्रस्थि॑तान्पिब
tīvrāḥ somāsa ā gahyāśīrvantaḥ sutā ime vāyo tānprasthitānpiba
The vehement somas have come, full and poured out, these are well-released; O Vayu, present them and let them be drunk.

Both gods touch the sky—we invoke Indra and Vayu—for the drinking of this soma.

We invoke Mitra and Vayu for the rite, and Varuna for drinking Soma; the wise, pure in skill, know this.

Varuna has swept the realms; Mitra with all forms has filled them; may the mighty, wide‑seeing gods grant us prosperity.

We invoke the Maruts, the strong, and Indra — for drinking Soma may they be invoked; let the assembled troop grant abundance.

Slaying the demon Vṛtra, with Indra together in might they yoked him; may no ill speech harm our minds.

We invoke all gods, the Maruts, for drinking Soma; indeed they are fierce, mothers of the clans.

जय॑तामिव तन्य॒तुर्म॒रुता॑मेति धृष्णु॒या । यच्छुभं॑ या॒थना॑ नरः
jayatāmiva tanyaturmarutāmeti dhṛṣṇuyā yacchubhaṃ yāthanā naraḥ
May they be victorious like a young wild bull — the Maruts come with daring; whatever prosperity a man deserves, may he obtain it.

From the crackling lightning and roar be born showers; Maruts, make us gentle (prosperous).

May Pūṣan, the bright one with sacred grass, bring near the firm land of heaven; as cattle are led, may he lead the lost to us.

Pūṣan, lord, having cleansed the unclean place, revealed the hidden cave; he discovered the bright sacred grass.

uto sa mahyamindubhiḥ ṣaḍyuktām̐ anuseṣidhat gobhiryavaṃ na carkṛṣat
He rose up with drops of dew and followed them closely; he did not plough deep with oxen.

May both mothers go by the paths, bearing offspring; may streams of honey and milk flow.

May those unerring ones who are with the sun strike down the enemy; may they smite our foes on the battlefield.

O waters, goddesses, be invoked where our cattle drink; make the offering toward the Sindhu (river).

Within the waters is immortal nectar, a healing draught in the streams; may the gods be endowed with vigor.

apsu me somo abravīdantarviśvāni bheṣajā agniṃ ca viśvaśambhuvamāpaśca viśvabheṣajīḥ
The Soma spoke within the waters: all are medicines; Agni, the auspicious one, and the all-healing ones have gathered.

Waters, grant the chosen remedy stretching for me; let me behold the imminent sun.

इ॒दमा॑पः॒ प्र व॑हत॒ यत्किं च॑ दुरि॒तं मयि॑ । यद्वा॒हम॑भिदु॒द्रोह॒ यद्वा॑ शे॒प उ॒तानृ॑तम्
idamāpaḥ pra vahata yatkiṃ ca duritaṃ mayi yadvāhamabhidudroha yadvā śepa utānṛtam
These waters sweep away whatever grief is within me, whether the roaring flood or the hostile falsehood of a foe.

आपो॑ अ॒द्यान्व॑चारिषं॒ रसे॑न॒ सम॑गस्महि । पय॑स्वानग्न॒ आ ग॑हि॒ तं मा॒ सं सृ॑ज॒ वर्च॑सा
āpo adyānvacāriṣaṃ rasena samagasmahi payasvānagna ā gahi taṃ mā saṃ sṛja varcasā
May we, with the essence flowing, unite with the waters who go first; bring that fire near with waters, and with abundant power create for us.

सं मा॑ग्ने॒ वर्च॑सा सृज॒ सं प्र॒जया॒ समायु॑षा । वि॒द्युर्मे॑ अस्य दे॒वा इन्द्रो॑ विद्यात्स॒ह ऋषि॑भिः
saṃ māgne varcasā sṛja saṃ prajayā samāyuṣā vidyurme asya devā indro vidyātsaha ṛṣibhiḥ
Bestow for us, O Magnificent One, abundant splendour, progeny and long life; may the gods, especially Indra, grant us knowledge along with the seers.
