अभू॑दि॒दं व॒युन॒मो षु भू॑षता॒ रथो॒ वृष॑ण्वा॒न्मद॑ता मनीषिणः । धि॒यं॒जि॒न्वा धिष्ण्या॑ वि॒श्पला॑वसू दि॒वो नपा॑ता सु॒कृते॒ शुचि॑व्रता
abhūdidaṃ vayunamo ṣu bhūṣatā ratho vṛṣaṇvānmadatā manīṣiṇaḥ dhiyaṃjinvā dhiṣṇyā viśpalāvasū divo napātā sukṛte śucivratā
This was the roaring of the airy chariot, adorned, the bull-like steeds in pride, the thoughtful ones. They acquired mind and prowess; the many-splendoured heaven, undefiled, the righteous vow.

इन्द्र॑तमा॒ हि धिष्ण्या॑ म॒रुत्त॑मा द॒स्रा दंसि॑ष्ठा र॒थ्या॑ र॒थीत॑मा । पू॒र्णं रथं॑ वहेथे॒ मध्व॒ आचि॑तं॒ तेन॑ दा॒श्वांस॒मुप॑ याथो अश्विना
indratamā hi dhiṣṇyā maruttamā dasrā daṃsiṣṭhā rathyā rathītamā pūrṇaṃ rathaṃ vahethe madhva ācitaṃ tena dāśvāṃsamupa yātho aśvinā
Most Indra-like among the vigorous, most like the Maruts, resolute chariot-riders, the charioteer of charioteers. He would bear a full chariot, drawn by honeyed might; thus the Ashvins brought ten steeds together.

किमत्र॑ दस्रा कृणुथः॒ किमा॑साथे॒ जनो॒ यः कश्चि॒दह॑विर्मही॒यते॑ । अति॑ क्रमिष्टं जु॒रतं॑ प॒णेरसुं॒ ज्योति॒र्विप्रा॑य कृणुतं वच॒स्यवे॑
kimatra dasrā kṛṇuthaḥ kimāsāthe jano yaḥ kaścidahavirmahīyate ati kramiṣṭaṃ jurataṃ paṇerasuṃ jyotirviprāya kṛṇutaṃ vacasyave
Why make such devices here, O ten-armed, why labour at rites? Which man among you makes a great offering? Let the learned fashion brilliant light, let the sages shape the word of power.

ज॒म्भय॑तम॒भितो॒ राय॑तः॒ शुनो॑ ह॒तं मृधो॑ वि॒दथु॒स्तान्य॑श्विना । वाचं॑वाचं जरि॒तू र॒त्निनीं॑ कृतमु॒भा शंसं॑ नासत्यावतं॒ मम॑
jambhayatamabhito rāyataḥ śuno hataṃ mṛdho vidathustānyaśvinā vācaṃvācaṃ jaritū ratninīṃ kṛtamubhā śaṃsaṃ nāsatyāvataṃ mama
With gathering thunder around, the hound struck down, the slain increased; the Ashvins proclaimed speech and made bright jewels; they praised the twofold gift—not false to me.

यु॒वमे॒तं च॑क्रथुः॒ सिन्धु॑षु प्ल॒वमा॑त्म॒न्वन्तं॑ प॒क्षिणं॑ तौ॒ग्र्याय॒ कम् । येन॑ देव॒त्रा मन॑सा निरू॒हथुः॑ सुपप्त॒नी पे॑तथुः॒ क्षोद॑सो म॒हः
yuvametaṃ cakrathuḥ sindhuṣu plavamātmanvantaṃ pakṣiṇaṃ taugryāya kam yena devatrā manasā nirūhathuḥ supaptanī petathuḥ kṣodaso mahaḥ
You two made this, O skilful ones, in the waters: a bird that wings itself, a pair of comrades. By which the gods, with mind, held fast the sleepers, the mighty ones afflicted by turmoil.

अव॑विद्धं तौ॒ग्र्यम॒प्स्व१॒॑न्तर॑नारम्भ॒णे तम॑सि॒ प्रवि॑द्धम् । चत॑स्रो॒ नावो॒ जठ॑लस्य॒ जुष्टा॒ उद॒श्विभ्या॑मिषि॒ताः पा॑रयन्ति
avaviddhaṃ taugryamapsva1ntaranārambhaṇe tamasi praviddham catasro nāvo jaṭhalasya juṣṭā udaśvibhyāmiṣitāḥ pārayanti
They plunged the pair into the deep when the waters began within the misty darkness; four boats, fleshy at the belly, made ready, borne by two swift ones, they crossed.

कः स्वि॑द्वृ॒क्षो निष्ठि॑तो॒ मध्ये॒ अर्ण॑सो॒ यं तौ॒ग्र्यो ना॑धि॒तः प॒र्यष॑स्वजत् । प॒र्णा मृ॒गस्य॑ प॒तरो॑रिवा॒रभ॒ उद॑श्विना ऊहथुः॒ श्रोम॑ताय॒ कम्
kaḥ svidvṛkṣo niṣṭhito madhye arṇaso yaṃ taugryo nādhitaḥ paryaṣasvajat parṇā mṛgasya patarorivārabha udaśvinā ūhathuḥ śromatāya kam
Who knows the tree fixed in the midst of the waters, whose trunk bore that pair above the flood? Leaves like the deer's—Ashvins placed them for listening—what of their fragrant hair?

तद्वां॑ नरा नासत्या॒वनु॑ ष्या॒द्यद्वां॒ माना॑स उ॒चथ॒मवो॑चन् । अ॒स्माद॒द्य सद॑सः सो॒म्यादा वि॒द्यामे॒षं वृ॒जनं॑ जी॒रदा॑नुम्
tadvāṃ narā nāsatyāvanu ṣyādyadvāṃ mānāsa ucathamavocan asmādadya sadasaḥ somyādā vidyāmeṣaṃ vṛjanaṃ jīradānum
This day, O men, do not be angry nor disregard what your minds have uttered; I proclaim this glorious herd and that life-giving power for you.
