I call to mind the fathers—mighty, the mind like a great mother; honoring the earth with hymns. The fathers placed the world, steadying the progeny; they obtained immortal wealth for the folk with their offerings.

The youthful sons, their own, praised the earth’s noble one; the mothers brought forth their former resolves. Let truth and the world stand in the duties of the son; the path of the twofold foot is relentless.

They of subtle wisdom became my magicians with clear thought, born from a united womb, united in pairing. New and not-new stretches the thread through heaven and ocean; the poets are gifted with splendid song within.

Therefore now we revere Savitu the excellent; we strive for the birth of the god. May heaven and earth grant us with clear mind abundant wealth, the rich treasure with hundredfold kine.
