Both I call the two with hymns; with truth I burn the deceitful by the might of Indra. Clinging where foes were struck, they surrounded the ill‑placed camp and burned the hostile (ones).

Clinging, the mighty ones cut off the heads of the proud; they smashed the feet with the great club, the feet of the great‑smiters.

Strike down their dwelling, O generous one; let the booty go to the mighty. Let the brave one come forth for the proud. The hosts of the vailless place and the great strong‑made arms go to the mighty ones.

Those three‑and‑fifty who, with fifty‑fold strides, set forth the waters — in them you place your mind; in those you place your mind.

Drive away the foul‑breathing demon, Indra, crush the fiend; protect all, O Raksas, and remove them.

Give strength, O mighty Indra; let the heavens be clear for us, let not the mountains be full of dread; let not the mountains be hateful. With slender shafts and dreadful arrows you strike; the hero, slayer of men, unexpected and courageous, with powers three and sevenfold, a hero with powers.

He prospers, the giver of wealth: he brings ruin to foes; the prosperous one sacrifices and hates the enemies of the gods. The prosperous one, indeed, grants thousands of spoils, the oxen‑giver gives wealth and realm to the tribe.
