अस॑र्जि॒ वक्वा॒ रथ्ये॒ यथा॒जौ धि॒या म॒नोता॑ प्रथ॒मो म॑नी॒षी । दश॒ स्वसा॑रो॒ अधि॒ सानो॒ अव्येऽज॑न्ति॒ वह्निं॒ सद॑ना॒न्यच्छ॑
asarji vakvā rathye yathājau dhiyā manotā prathamo manīṣī daśa svasāro adhi sāno avye'janti vahniṃ sadanānyaccha
They fashioned speech and the chariot as men fashion insight; first among the thoughtful was the mind. Ten channels of breath stood over the hearth; they placed the fire in the abiding home.

वी॒ती जन॑स्य दि॒व्यस्य॑ क॒व्यैरधि॑ सुवा॒नो न॑हु॒ष्ये॑भि॒रिन्दुः॑ । प्र यो नृभि॑र॒मृतो॒ मर्त्ये॑भिर्मर्मृजा॒नोऽवि॑भि॒र्गोभि॑र॒द्भिः
vītī janasya divyasya kavyairadhi suvāno nahuṣyebhirinduḥ pra yo nṛbhiramṛto martyebhirmarmṛjāno'vibhirgobhiradbhiḥ
The radiant course of the divine folk, sung by poets, is famed among the joyous hymns. Whereby men attain immortality among mortals—by heroic minds, by those who know the secret, by kine and by bulls.

वृषा॒ वृष्णे॒ रोरु॑वदं॒शुर॑स्मै॒ पव॑मानो॒ रुश॑दीर्ते॒ पयो॒ गोः । स॒हस्र॒मृक्वा॑ प॒थिभि॑र्वचो॒विद॑ध्व॒स्मभिः॒ सूरो॒ अण्वं॒ वि या॑ति
vṛṣā vṛṣṇe roruvadaṃśurasmai pavamāno ruśadīrte payo goḥ sahasramṛkvā pathibhirvacovidadhvasmabhiḥ sūro aṇvaṃ vi yāti
The bulllike rains roared, O pavamāna, the clarifying one, pouring milk like cows; a thousand stags upon the paths spoke forth your word and the hero goes with them.

रु॒जा दृ॒ळ्हा चि॑द्र॒क्षसः॒ सदां॑सि पुना॒न इ॑न्द ऊर्णुहि॒ वि वाजा॑न् । वृ॒श्चोपरि॑ष्टात्तुज॒ता व॒धेन॒ ये अन्ति॑ दू॒रादु॑पना॒यमे॑षाम्
rujā dṛḷhā cidrakṣasaḥ sadāṃsi punāna inda ūrṇuhi vi vājān vṛścopariṣṭāttujatā vadhena ye anti dūrādupanāyameṣām
Sickness, rending and the eye's wounds are ever present; gird yourselves anew, O Indra, raise the strength of the steeds. From the summit the horned ones, fallen by slaughter, those who end from afar—these are your foes.

स प्र॑त्न॒वन्नव्य॑से विश्ववार सू॒क्ताय॑ प॒थः कृ॑णुहि॒ प्राचः॑ । ये दुः॒षहा॑सो व॒नुषा॑ बृ॒हन्त॒स्ताँस्ते॑ अश्याम पुरुकृत्पुरुक्षो
sa pratnavannavyase viśvavāra sūktāya pathaḥ kṛṇuhi prācaḥ ye duḥṣahāso vanuṣā bṛhantastām̐ste aśyāma purukṛtpurukṣo
He quickly labored and did not desist; he made the wide paths, he went forth beforehand. Those who laughed badly and boasted with wild speech—those great men are the destroyers of people and cities.

ए॒वा पु॑ना॒नो अ॒पः स्व१॒॑र्गा अ॒स्मभ्यं॑ तो॒का तन॑यानि॒ भूरि॑ । शं नः॒ क्षेत्र॑मु॒रु ज्योतीं॑षि सोम॒ ज्योङ्नः॒ सूर्यं॑ दृ॒शये॑ रिरीहि
evā punāno apaḥ sva1rgā asmabhyaṃ tokā tanayāni bhūri śaṃ naḥ kṣetramuru jyotīṃṣi soma jyoṅnaḥ sūryaṃ dṛśaye rirīhi
Thus again the waters, the heavenly ones, bestowed on us abundant offspring and balms. May Soma bestow the light of the regions, may he show the sun to us, grant sight.
