स प्र॑त्न॒वन्नव्य॑से विश्ववार सू॒क्ताय॑ प॒थः कृ॑णुहि॒ प्राचः॑ । ये दुः॒षहा॑सो व॒नुषा॑ बृ॒हन्त॒स्ताँस्ते॑ अश्याम पुरुकृत्पुरुक्षो
sa pratnavannavyase viśvavāra sūktāya pathaḥ kṛṇuhi prācaḥ ye duḥṣahāso vanuṣā bṛhantastām̐ste aśyāma purukṛtpurukṣo
He quickly labored and did not desist; he made the wide paths, he went forth beforehand. Those who laughed badly and boasted with wild speech—those great men are the destroyers of people and cities.
Adorable (Soma), do you as of old grant the ancient paths to your new worshipper; doer of many acts, utterer of many sounds, may we obtain those (portions) of you which are difficult to defeat, inflicting injury (on foes) and mighty.
Prepare the forward paths in ancient manner for the new bymn, thou Giver of all bounties. Those which are high and hard for foes to conquer may we gain from thee, Active! Food-bestower!
