ध॒र्ता दि॒वः प॑वते॒ कृत्व्यो॒ रसो॒ दक्षो॑ दे॒वाना॑मनु॒माद्यो॒ नृभिः॑ । हरिः॑ सृजा॒नो अत्यो॒ न सत्व॑भि॒र्वृथा॒ पाजां॑सि कृणुते न॒दीष्वा
dhartā divaḥ pavate kṛtvyo raso dakṣo devānāmanumādyo nṛbhiḥ hariḥ sṛjāno atyo na satvabhirvṛthā pājāṃsi kṛṇute nadīṣvā
Bearer of heaven pours forth; making the savour he roused the skilled assembly of gods among men. Hari the creator brought forth much—he did not vainly fashion slaughters among beings; he made offerings in the rivers.

शूरो॒ न ध॑त्त॒ आयु॑धा॒ गभ॑स्त्योः॒ स्व१॒ः॑ सिषा॑सन्रथि॒रो गवि॑ष्टिषु । इन्द्र॑स्य॒ शुष्म॑मी॒रय॑न्नप॒स्युभि॒रिन्दु॑र्हिन्वा॒नो अ॑ज्यते मनी॒षिभिः॑
śūro na dhatta āyudhā gabhastyoḥ sva1ḥ siṣāsanrathiro gaviṣṭiṣu indrasya śuṣmamīrayannapasyubhirindurhinvāno ajyate manīṣibhiḥ
The brave did not place weapons in the wombs of the twain; his own chariot-seat sat among the cows. They who made Indra’s subtle foes in the waters were reproached by wise men.

इन्द्र॑स्य सोम॒ पव॑मान ऊ॒र्मिणा॑ तवि॒ष्यमा॑णो ज॒ठरे॒ष्वा वि॑श । प्र णः॑ पिन्व वि॒द्युद॒भ्रेव॒ रोद॑सी धि॒या न वाजा॒ँ उप॑ मासि॒ शश्व॑तः
indrasya soma pavamāna ūrmiṇā taviṣyamāṇo jaṭhareṣvā viśa pra ṇaḥ pinva vidyudabhreva rodasī dhiyā na vājām̐ upa māsi śaśvataḥ
Indra’s Soma, the purifier, with surging waves cleansed in the bellies of the strong. The draught, poured forth like lightning and cloud at dawn, with mind and strength was not ever held back.

विश्व॑स्य॒ राजा॑ पवते स्व॒र्दृश॑ ऋ॒तस्य॑ धी॒तिमृ॑षि॒षाळ॑वीवशत् । यः सूर्य॒स्यासि॑रेण मृ॒ज्यते॑ पि॒ता म॑ती॒नामस॑मष्टकाव्यः
viśvasya rājā pavate svardṛśa ṛtasya dhītimṛṣiṣāḷavīvaśat yaḥ sūryasyāsireṇa mṛjyate pitā matīnāmasamaṣṭakāvyaḥ
The king of all poured forth; with visible rule he traced the measure of Rta; the thinking sage, Mṛṣíśāla Vīvast, sat. He who is like the sun’s head is shaped; father of minds, he arranged the eightfold laws.

वृषे॑व यू॒था परि॒ कोश॑मर्षस्य॒पामु॒पस्थे॑ वृष॒भः कनि॑क्रदत् । स इन्द्रा॑य पवसे मत्स॒रिन्त॑मो॒ यथा॒ जेषा॑म समि॒थे त्वोत॑यः
vṛṣeva yūthā pari kośamarṣasyapāmupasthe vṛṣabhaḥ kanikradat sa indrāya pavase matsarintamo yathā jeṣāma samithe tvotayaḥ
Like a bull around the enclosure the steersman touched the pen; the bull lowed. He became the fiercest rival for Indra, as at the contest the teams ranged like yokes.
