पर्यू॒ षु प्र ध॑न्व॒ वाज॑सातये॒ परि॑ वृ॒त्राणि॑ स॒क्षणिः॑ । द्वि॒षस्त॒रध्या॑ ऋण॒या न॑ ईयसे
paryū ṣu pra dhanva vājasātaye pari vṛtrāṇi sakṣaṇiḥ dviṣastaradhyā ṛṇayā na īyase
Around the swift might of the bow he surveyed the slaying of vrtra; with hostile wrath he would not accept a loan.

अनु॒ हि त्वा॑ सु॒तं सो॑म॒ मदा॑मसि म॒हे स॑मर्य॒राज्ये॑ । वाजा॑ँ अ॒भि प॑वमान॒ प्र गा॑हसे
anu hi tvā sutaṃ soma madāmasi mahe samaryarājye vājām̐ abhi pavamāna pra gāhase
Indeed you, Soma, have known mighty pride in royal assembly; you, the invigorating, grasp the strength of the bulls.

अजी॑जनो॒ हि प॑वमान॒ सूर्यं॑ वि॒धारे॒ शक्म॑ना॒ पयः॑ । गोजी॑रया॒ रंह॑माणः॒ पुरं॑ध्या
ajījano hi pavamāna sūryaṃ vidhāre śakmanā payaḥ gojīrayā raṃhamāṇaḥ puraṃdhyā
With vigorous might he upheld the moving sun by power and brought forth milk; with cow’s strength stirring, he set forth the city.

अजी॑जनो अमृत॒ मर्त्ये॒ष्वाँ ऋ॒तस्य॒ धर्म॑न्न॒मृत॑स्य॒ चारु॑णः । सदा॑सरो॒ वाज॒मच्छा॒ सनि॑ष्यदत्
ajījano amṛta martyeṣvām̐ ṛtasya dharmannamṛtasya cāruṇaḥ sadāsaro vājamacchā saniṣyadat
By vigorous might the immortal reached mortals; the law of ṛta, the delightful immortal’s rule, ever bore the strength of sacrifice.

अ॒भ्य॑भि॒ हि श्रव॑सा त॒तर्दि॒थोत्सं॒ न कं चि॑ज्जन॒पान॒मक्षि॑तम् । शर्या॑भि॒र्न भर॑माणो॒ गभ॑स्त्योः
abhyabhi hi śravasā tatardithotsaṃ na kaṃ cijjanapānamakṣitam śaryābhirna bharamāṇo gabhastyoḥ
He struck with the ears of hearing; the earth’s praise did not spare any people; arrows striking churned in the womb of the two.

आदीं॒ के चि॒त्पश्य॑मानास॒ आप्यं॑ वसु॒रुचो॑ दि॒व्या अ॒भ्य॑नूषत । वारं॒ न दे॒वः स॑वि॒ता व्यू॑र्णुते
ādīṃ ke citpaśyamānāsa āpyaṃ vasuruco divyā abhyanūṣata vāraṃ na devaḥ savitā vyūrṇute
Who first looked upon the flaming waters? The bright riches flowed down; the god Savita spreads the flood.

त्वे सो॑म प्रथ॒मा वृ॒क्तब॑र्हिषो म॒हे वाजा॑य॒ श्रव॑से॒ धियं॑ दधुः । स त्वं नो॑ वीर वी॒र्या॑य चोदय
tve soma prathamā vṛktabarhiṣo mahe vājāya śravase dhiyaṃ dadhuḥ sa tvaṃ no vīra vīryāya codaya
You, Soma, first placed the oblation for mighty strength and hearing; you urge our heroes to heroic deeds.

दि॒वः पी॒यूषं॑ पू॒र्व्यं यदु॒क्थ्यं॑ म॒हो गा॒हाद्दि॒व आ निर॑धुक्षत । इन्द्र॑म॒भि जाय॑मानं॒ सम॑स्वरन्
divaḥ pīyūṣaṃ pūrvyaṃ yadukthyaṃ maho gāhāddiva ā niradhukṣata indramabhi jāyamānaṃ samasvaran
The heaven’s earlier ambrosia, glorious by hymn, spaciously flowed; it proclaimed Indra borne forth with voice.

अध॒ यदि॒मे प॑वमान॒ रोद॑सी इ॒मा च॒ विश्वा॒ भुव॑ना॒भि म॒ज्मना॑ । यू॒थे न नि॒ष्ठा वृ॑ष॒भो वि ति॑ष्ठसे
adha yadime pavamāna rodasī imā ca viśvā bhuvanābhi majmanā yūthe na niṣṭhā vṛṣabho vi tiṣṭhase
If these vigorous ones are the moving drops, these all the worlds with their masses,—the bull stands firm in his seat, not departing from the assembly.

सोमः॑ पुना॒नो अ॒व्यये॒ वारे॒ शिशु॒र्न क्रीळ॒न्पव॑मानो अक्षाः । स॒हस्र॑धारः श॒तवा॑ज॒ इन्दुः॑
somaḥ punāno avyaye vāre śiśurna krīḷanpavamāno akṣāḥ sahasradhāraḥ śatavāja induḥ
Soma, the ever-youthful, unaging, plays not in vain; thousand-bearing, hundred-valiant is Indu (the moon).

ए॒ष पु॑ना॒नो मधु॑माँ ऋ॒तावेन्द्रा॒येन्दुः॑ पवते स्वा॒दुरू॒र्मिः । वा॒ज॒सनि॑र्वरिवो॒विद्व॑यो॒धाः
eṣa punāno madhumām̐ ṛtāvendrāyenduḥ pavate svādurūrmiḥ vājasanirvarivovidvayodhāḥ
This rejuvenating Soma is honeylike for the law of the gods; his own delightful thrill moves the inspiring singers, the warrior-kings of sacrifice.

स प॑वस्व॒ सह॑मानः पृत॒न्यून्सेध॒न्रक्षां॒स्यप॑ दु॒र्गहा॑णि । स्वा॒यु॒धः सा॑स॒ह्वान्सो॑म॒ शत्रू॑न्
sa pavasva sahamānaḥ pṛtanyūnsedhanrakṣāṃsyapa durgahāṇi svāyudhaḥ sāsahvānsoma śatrūn
He poured forth the shared strength, protecting the pious offerings, repelling hostile forts; his arms defended, Soma vanquished enemies.
