प्रप्र॑ वस्त्रि॒ष्टुभ॒मिषं॑ म॒न्दद्वी॑रा॒येन्द॑वे । धि॒या वो॑ मे॒धसा॑तये॒ पुरं॒ध्या वि॑वासति
prapra vastriṣṭubhamiṣaṃ mandadvīrāyendave dhiyā vo medhasātaye puraṃdhyā vivāsati
Bring forth an auspicious Sṛṣṭubh-stanza for the brave ones of the battle; may your wisdom and understanding make our city prosper.

न॒दं व॒ ओद॑तीनां न॒दं योयु॑वतीनाम् । पतिं॑ वो॒ अघ्न्या॑नां धेनू॒नामि॑षुध्यसि
nadaṃ va odatīnāṃ nadaṃ yoyuvatīnām patiṃ vo aghnyānāṃ dhenūnāmiṣudhyasi
The river of the flowing ones, the river of the youthful—may you load for us the lord of the incomparable cows; you press out the milky streams.

ता अ॑स्य॒ सूद॑दोहसः॒ सोमं॑ श्रीणन्ति॒ पृश्न॑यः । जन्म॑न्दे॒वानां॒ विश॑स्त्रि॒ष्वा रो॑च॒ने दि॒वः
tā asya sūdadohasaḥ somaṃ śrīṇanti pṛśnayaḥ janmandevānāṃ viśastriṣvā rocane divaḥ
Those who milked him sang Soma, O Pṛśniyas; the births of the gods shine in the three splendid realms of heaven.

अ॒भि प्र गोप॑तिं गि॒रेन्द्र॑मर्च॒ यथा॑ वि॒दे । सू॒नुं स॒त्यस्य॒ सत्प॑तिम्
abhi pra gopatiṃ girendramarca yathā vide sūnuṃ satyasya satpatim
Approach the protector of cows with song and praise, like a king revered; grant the son the true lordship.

आ हर॑यः ससृज्रि॒रेऽरु॑षी॒रधि॑ ब॒र्हिषि॑ । यत्रा॒भि सं॒नवा॑महे
ā harayaḥ sasṛjrire'ruṣīradhi barhiṣi yatrābhi saṃnavāmahe
He brought the plentitude and created streams with the sacrificial spoon in the rite where we invoked him together.

इन्द्रा॑य॒ गाव॑ आ॒शिरं॑ दुदु॒ह्रे व॒ज्रिणे॒ मधु॑ । यत्सी॑मुपह्व॒रे वि॒दत्
indrāya gāva āśiraṃ duduhre vajriṇe madhu yatsīmupahvare vidat
Indra milked the cows for the lord, the strong one who made the sweet—what he measured out he bestowed.

उद्यद्ब्र॒ध्नस्य॑ वि॒ष्टपं॑ गृ॒हमिन्द्र॑श्च॒ गन्व॑हि । मध्वः॑ पी॒त्वा स॑चेवहि॒ त्रिः स॒प्त सख्युः॑ प॒दे
udyadbradhnasya viṣṭapaṃ gṛhamindraśca ganvahi madhvaḥ pītvā sacevahi triḥ sapta sakhyuḥ pade
At the rising of the great one the Vishtaspas sought home and Indra led them; drinking mead they went three by seven friends in step.

अर्च॑त॒ प्रार्च॑त॒ प्रिय॑मेधासो॒ अर्च॑त । अर्च॑न्तु पुत्र॒का उ॒त पुरं॒ न धृ॒ष्ण्व॑र्चत
arcata prārcata priyamedhāso arcata arcantu putrakā uta puraṃ na dhṛṣṇvarcata
They worshipped, they revered—generous-minded in their rites. Let sons and townsfolk perform the worship; let not the city fail to uphold it.

अव॑ स्वराति॒ गर्ग॑रो गो॒धा परि॑ सनिष्वणत् । पिङ्गा॒ परि॑ चनिष्कद॒दिन्द्रा॑य॒ ब्रह्मोद्य॑तम्
ava svarāti gargaro godhā pari saniṣvaṇat piṅgā pari caniṣkadadindrāya brahmodyatam
A spring flows; Gargara, like a cow, lowed around with its stirring. Pinga moved around, and with a lance Indra rose, the spirit of Brahman uplifted.

आ यत्पत॑न्त्ये॒न्यः॑ सु॒दुघा॒ अन॑पस्फुरः । अ॒प॒स्फुरं॑ गृभायत॒ सोम॒मिन्द्रा॑य॒ पात॑वे
ā yatpatantyenyaḥ sudughā anapasphuraḥ apasphuraṃ gṛbhāyata somamindrāya pātave
May that which falls away be born anew, unobstructed and brightly streaming; Soma made that shining, Indra’s, for the guardian.

अपा॒दिन्द्रो॒ अपा॑द॒ग्निर्विश्वे॑ दे॒वा अ॑मत्सत । वरु॑ण॒ इदि॒ह क्ष॑य॒त्तमापो॑ अ॒भ्य॑नूषत व॒त्सं सं॒शिश्व॑रीरिव
apādindro apādagnirviśve devā amatsata varuṇa idiha kṣayattamāpo abhyanūṣata vatsaṃ saṃśiśvarīriva
Indra cast away disasters; Agni cast off losses; all the gods were unerring. Varuṇa here dispelled decline: the waters revived like a calf nurturing its body.

सु॒दे॒वो अ॑सि वरुण॒ यस्य॑ ते स॒प्त सिन्ध॑वः । अ॒नु॒क्षर॑न्ति का॒कुदं॑ सू॒र्म्यं॑ सुषि॒रामि॑व
sudevo asi varuṇa yasya te sapta sindhavaḥ anukṣaranti kākudaṃ sūrmyaṃ suṣirāmiva
You are the excellent god, Varuṇa, whose seven rivers flow. They follow the shining Kākuḍa like the goodly stream, like abundant moisture.

यो व्यती॒ँरफा॑णय॒त्सुयु॑क्ता॒ँ उप॑ दा॒शुषे॑ । त॒क्वो ने॒ता तदिद्वपु॑रुप॒मा यो अमु॑च्यत
yo vyatīm̐raphāṇayatsuyuktām̐ upa dāśuṣe takvo netā tadidvapurupamā yo amucyata
He who turned aside the serpent-bearing ones, bound together, gave them to the Dāśu. That which these leaders carried forth was like a city’s head—he who loosed it.

अतीदु॑ श॒क्र ओ॑हत॒ इन्द्रो॒ विश्वा॒ अति॒ द्विषः॑ । भि॒नत्क॒नीन॑ ओद॒नं प॒च्यमा॑नं प॒रो गि॒रा
atīdu śakra ohata indro viśvā ati dviṣaḥ bhinatkanīna odanaṃ pacyamānaṃ paro girā
Shakra rushed beyond frenzy; Indra surpassed all foes. He split through the banks, he tore the welter, he uttered the supreme word.

अ॒र्भ॒को न कु॑मार॒कोऽधि॑ तिष्ठ॒न्नवं॒ रथ॑म् । स प॑क्षन्महि॒षं मृ॒गं पि॒त्रे मा॒त्रे वि॑भु॒क्रतु॑म्
arbhako na kumārako'dhi tiṣṭhannavaṃ ratham sa pakṣanmahiṣaṃ mṛgaṃ pitre mātre vibhukratum
Not a colt, nor a young ox stands upon the new chariot. He bore the great winged-horned beast, the stag, for father and mother, accomplishing prowess.

आ तू सु॑शिप्र दम्पते॒ रथं॑ तिष्ठा हिर॒ण्यय॑म् । अध॑ द्यु॒क्षं स॑चेवहि स॒हस्र॑पादमरु॒षं स्व॑स्ति॒गाम॑ने॒हस॑म्
ā tū suśipra dampate rathaṃ tiṣṭhā hiraṇyayam adha dyukṣaṃ sacevahi sahasrapādamaruṣaṃ svastigāmanehasam
Come, O pair, seat upon the chariot; stand on the golden one. Place the shining yolk beneath; together may a thousand-footed roar go auspiciously forth.

तं घे॑मि॒त्था न॑म॒स्विन॒ उप॑ स्व॒राज॑मासते । अर्थं॑ चिदस्य॒ सुधि॑तं॒ यदेत॑व आव॒र्तय॑न्ति दा॒वने॑
taṃ ghemitthā namasvina upa svarājamāsate arthaṃ cidasya sudhitaṃ yadetava āvartayanti dāvane
I smote him; may the Nāgas grant strength and sovereignty. Let them turn back what is hidden and held in the ritual flames for the seekers.

अनु॑ प्र॒त्नस्यौक॑सः प्रि॒यमे॑धास एषाम् । पूर्वा॒मनु॒ प्रय॑तिं वृ॒क्तब॑र्हिषो हि॒तप्र॑यस आशत
anu pratnasyaukasaḥ priyamedhāsa eṣām pūrvāmanu prayatiṃ vṛktabarhiṣo hitaprayasa āśata
Following the eager seeker, to the beloved minds of these men: the ancient ones sent forth their striving with the priestly men for beneficence and goodwill.
