स पू॒र्व्यो म॒हानां॑ वे॒नः क्रतु॑भिरानजे । यस्य॒ द्वारा॒ मनु॑ष्पि॒ता दे॒वेषु॒ धिय॑ आन॒जे
sa pūrvyo mahānāṃ venaḥ kratubhirānaje yasya dvārā manuṣpitā deveṣu dhiya ānaje
He who was the ancient great staff among the mighty, fashioned by the powers; by whose means the mortal father roused thought among the gods.

दि॒वो मानं॒ नोत्स॑द॒न्सोम॑पृष्ठासो॒ अद्र॑यः । उ॒क्था ब्रह्म॑ च॒ शंस्या॑
divo mānaṃ notsadansomapṛṣṭhāso adrayaḥ ukthā brahma ca śaṃsyā
He who stirred the realms of heaven, the all-vigorous, the mountain-seated; hymns and the sacred power (brahman) are to be praised.

स वि॒द्वाँ अङ्गि॑रोभ्य॒ इन्द्रो॒ गा अ॑वृणो॒दप॑ । स्तु॒षे तद॑स्य॒ पौंस्य॑म्
sa vidvām̐ aṅgirobhya indro gā avṛṇodapa stuṣe tadasya pauṃsyam
He, the wise, shone from the Angirasas; Indra uncovered (revealed) the song. Praise to that blessing of his.

स प्र॒त्नथा॑ कविवृ॒ध इन्द्रो॑ वा॒कस्य॑ व॒क्षणिः॑ । शि॒वो अ॒र्कस्य॒ होम॑न्यस्म॒त्रा ग॒न्त्वव॑से
sa pratnathā kavivṛdha indro vākasya vakṣaṇiḥ śivo arkasya homanyasmatrā gantvavase
He, attempting as poets increase, Indra, the listener of speech; auspicious is the sun’s offering here—go and sit with us.

आदू॒ नु ते॒ अनु॒ क्रतुं॒ स्वाहा॒ वर॑स्य॒ यज्य॑वः । श्वा॒त्रम॒र्का अ॑नूष॒तेन्द्र॑ गो॒त्रस्य॑ दा॒वने॑
ādū nu te anu kratuṃ svāhā varasya yajyavaḥ śvātramarkā anūṣatendra gotrasya dāvane
Bring now your ritual, svaha, the excellent of the rite, ye worshippers. The coursing sun’s steeds hasten, tending the tribe’s rite at the offering.

इन्द्रे॒ विश्वा॑नि वी॒र्या॑ कृ॒तानि॒ कर्त्वा॑नि च । यम॒र्का अ॑ध्व॒रं वि॒दुः
indre viśvāni vīryā kṛtāni kartvāni ca yamarkā adhvaraṃ viduḥ
Indra made all heroic deeds and also the performed acts. The suns know the path beneath.

यत्पाञ्च॑जन्यया वि॒शेन्द्रे॒ घोषा॒ असृ॑क्षत । अस्तृ॑णाद्ब॒र्हणा॑ वि॒पो॒३॒॑ऽर्यो मान॑स्य॒ स क्षयः॑
yatpāñcajanyayā viśendre ghoṣā asṛkṣata astṛṇādbarhaṇā vipo3'ryo mānasya sa kṣayaḥ
When by the Panchajanya the chiefs proclaimed, the cries resounded. From straw to the mighty bards the noble men’s treasure perished.

इ॒यमु॑ ते॒ अनु॑ष्टुतिश्चकृ॒षे तानि॒ पौंस्या॑ । प्राव॑श्च॒क्रस्य॑ वर्त॒निम्
iyamu te anuṣṭutiścakṛṣe tāni pauṃsyā prāvaścakrasya vartanim
These observances I have kept for you; they are his blessings. He performed the circuit of the sacrifice.

अ॒स्य वृष्णो॒ व्योद॑न उ॒रु क्र॑मिष्ट जी॒वसे॑ । यवं॒ न प॒श्व आ द॑दे
asya vṛṣṇo vyodana uru kramiṣṭa jīvase yavaṃ na paśva ā dade
His mighty bull bellowed, the thigh advanced, he lived by the sequence. He did not give grain to the beast.

तद्दधा॑ना अव॒स्यवो॑ यु॒ष्माभि॒र्दक्ष॑पितरः । स्याम॑ म॒रुत्व॑तो वृ॒धे
taddadhānā avasyavo yuṣmābhirdakṣapitaraḥ syāma marutvato vṛdhe
Thus he bestowed food upon the needy by your skillful fathers. May we become older by the vigor of the Maruts.

बळृ॒त्विया॑य॒ धाम्न॒ ऋक्व॑भिः शूर नोनुमः । जेषा॑मेन्द्र॒ त्वया॑ यु॒जा
baḷṛtviyāya dhāmna ṛkvabhiḥ śūra nonumaḥ jeṣāmendra tvayā yujā
By strength, by the homestead, with Rig hymns, we invoke the brave. Join us, Indra, with what you possess.

अ॒स्मे रु॒द्रा मे॒हना॒ पर्व॑तासो वृत्र॒हत्ये॒ भर॑हूतौ स॒जोषाः॑ । यः शंस॑ते स्तुव॒ते धायि॑ प॒ज्र इन्द्र॑ज्येष्ठा अ॒स्माँ अ॑वन्तु दे॒वाः
asme rudrā mehanā parvatāso vṛtrahatye bharahūtau sajoṣāḥ yaḥ śaṃsate stuvate dhāyi pajra indrajyeṣṭhā asmām̐ avantu devāḥ
O Rudra, in my thought are the mountains for slaying Vritra, abundant in cattle, with pairs and comrades. Whoever praises, hymn-sings, or urges—may Indra the eldest grant us these, O gods.
