imā rudrāya sthiradhanvane giraḥ kṣipreṣave devāya svadhāvne aṣāḷhāya sahamānāya vedhase tigmāyudhāya bharatā śaṛṇotu naḥ
These verses are for Rudra, steady archer, swift-sender—offer them in the sacred fire. For the mighty, for the fierce, O guardian, hear our potent plea and accept the weapon of strength for us.

By destruction he will exhaust what must be exhausted; by birth he reawakens sovereignty through divine thought. O Rudra, deliver us from evil deeds and be our protector.

yā te didyudavasṛṣṭā divaspari kṣmayā carati pari sā vṛṇaktu naḥ sahasraṃ te svapivāta bheṣajā mā nastokeṣu tanayeṣu rīriṣaḥ
May the rays that were sprung by your brilliance move around like a shield—choose for us that which travels broadly. May thousands of your remedies flow upon us; do not sting the sons in their struggles.

mā no vadhī rudra mā parā dā mā te bhūma prasitau hīḷitasya ā no bhaja barhiṣi jīvaśaṃse yūyaṃ pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ
Do not slay us, Rudra; do not give the supreme blow; do not let the earth be offended. Protect us with offerings; accompany us with life—guard us always with auspiciousness.
