imā rudrāya sthiradhanvane giraḥ kṣipreṣave devāya svadhāvne aṣāḷhāya sahamānāya vedhase tigmāyudhāya bharatā śaṛṇotu naḥ
These verses are for Rudra, steady archer, swift-sender—offer them in the sacred fire. For the mighty, for the fierce, O guardian, hear our potent plea and accept the weapon of strength for us.
Offer these praises to the divine Rudra, armed with the strong bow and fast-flying arrows, the bestowerof food, the invincible, the conqueror, the creator, the wielder of sharp weapons; may he hear our (praises).
To Rudra bring these songs, whose bow is firm and strong, the self-dependent God with swiftly-flying shafts, The Wise, the Conqueror whom none may overcome, armed with sharp-pointed weapons: may he hear our call.
