पृ॒क्षस्य॒ वृष्णो॑ अरु॒षस्य॒ नू सहः॒ प्र नु वो॑चं वि॒दथा॑ जा॒तवे॑दसः । वै॒श्वा॒न॒राय॑ म॒तिर्नव्य॑सी॒ शुचिः॒ सोम॑ इव पवते॒ चारु॑र॒ग्नये॑
pṛkṣasya vṛṣṇo aruṣasya nū sahaḥ pra nu vocaṃ vidathā jātavedasaḥ vaiśvānarāya matirnavyasī śuciḥ soma iva pavate cāruragnaye
O Vrṣṇa of the forest, O noble Aruṣa, listen now to the speech born of the knowledgeable ones. For Vaishvānara the new‑minded resolve is pure like Soma; he glows for the fair Agni.

स जाय॑मानः पर॒मे व्यो॑मनि व्र॒तान्य॒ग्निर्व्र॑त॒पा अ॑रक्षत । व्य१॒॑न्तरि॑क्षममिमीत सु॒क्रतु॑र्वैश्वान॒रो म॑हि॒ना नाक॑मस्पृशत्
sa jāyamānaḥ parame vyomani vratānyagnirvratapā arakṣata vya1ntarikṣamamimīta sukraturvaiśvānaro mahinā nākamaspṛśat
Born he went forth into the supreme heaven; the steadfast Agni watched over the ordinances of vow. The skilful, radiant Vaishvānara touched the lofty firmament with his nostrils on the day of the month.

व्य॑स्तभ्ना॒द्रोद॑सी मि॒त्रो अद्भु॑तोऽन्त॒र्वाव॑दकृणो॒ज्ज्योति॑षा॒ तमः॑ । वि चर्म॑णीव धि॒षणे॑ अवर्तयद्वैश्वान॒रो विश्व॑मधत्त॒ वृष्ण्य॑म्
vyastabhnādrodasī mitro adbhuto'ntarvāvadakṛṇojjyotiṣā tamaḥ vi carmaṇīva dhiṣaṇe avartayadvaiśvānaro viśvamadhatta vṛṣṇyam
From the roaring breather, wondrous Mitra made a distributor of lights and turned back the darkness like a hide. Vaishvānara set all, the Vrṣṇas, by his wise spirit.

अ॒पामु॒पस्थे॑ महि॒षा अ॑गृभ्णत॒ विशो॒ राजा॑न॒मुप॑ तस्थुरृ॒ग्मिय॑म् । आ दू॒तो अ॒ग्निम॑भरद्वि॒वस्व॑तो वैश्वान॒रं मा॑त॒रिश्वा॑ परा॒वतः॑
apāmupasthe mahiṣā agṛbhṇata viśo rājānamupa tasthurṛgmiyam ā dūto agnimabharadvivasvato vaiśvānaraṃ mātariśvā parāvataḥ
When the waters came near, the mighty bulls seized the streams; all kings took their positions at the shore. The messenger bore Agni of the radiant dawn, Vaishvānara, onward from the mother's side.

यु॒गेयु॑गे विद॒थ्यं॑ गृ॒णद्भ्योऽग्ने॑ र॒यिं य॒शसं॑ धेहि॒ नव्य॑सीम् । प॒व्येव॑ राजन्न॒घशं॑समजर नी॒चा नि वृ॑श्च व॒निनं॒ न तेज॑सा
yugeyuge vidathyaṃ gṛṇadbhyo'gne rayiṃ yaśasaṃ dhehi navyasīm pavyeva rājannaghaśaṃsamajara nīcā ni vṛśca vaninaṃ na tejasā
Age after age, when you, Agni, renew the song, give radiance, grant fame to the youthful one. Purify, king, the sinner, detach the ignoble; bring forth the harmless forest‑dweller not by force but by your might.

अ॒स्माक॑मग्ने म॒घव॑त्सु धार॒याना॑मि क्ष॒त्रम॒जरं॑ सु॒वीर्य॑म् । व॒यं ज॑येम श॒तिनं॑ सह॒स्रिणं॒ वैश्वा॑नर॒ वाज॑मग्ने॒ तवो॒तिभिः॑
asmākamagne maghavatsu dhārayānāmi kṣatramajaraṃ suvīryam vayaṃ jayema śatinaṃ sahasriṇaṃ vaiśvānara vājamagne tavotibhiḥ
O Agni, I lay as fortress in your generous powers our realm, the ancient, heroic land. May we conquer hundreds, thousands, Vaishvānara, by your victorious powers and riches.

अद॑ब्धेभि॒स्तव॑ गो॒पाभि॑रिष्टे॒ऽस्माकं॑ पाहि त्रिषधस्थ सू॒रीन् । रक्षा॑ च नो द॒दुषां॒ शर्धो॑ अग्ने॒ वैश्वा॑नर॒ प्र च॑ तारीः॒ स्तवा॑नः
adabdhebhistava gopābhiriṣṭe'smākaṃ pāhi triṣadhastha sūrīn rakṣā ca no daduṣāṃ śardho agne vaiśvānara pra ca tārīḥ stavānaḥ
Guard us from your cattle‑guardians and those who stayed behind the cattle; protect our threefold heroes. O seeker of sacrifice, give us reward; O Vaishvānara, sustain our offerings and uphold our praises.
